So I took the SAT once in December and received a cr 570 m670 wr610 for an 1850 composite. After some preparation I took it again in March and received a cr550 m800 wr700 for a composite of 2050. Super scored, that comes out to a 2070 total composite which falls into the ranges of all of the schools I want to apply to. However, my only concern with my score is the reading section, which does not fall into most if not all of the ranges for the schools I would like to apply to. I am slated to retake the SAT again in May, this upcoming Saturday, but I am very hesitant. Most, if not all, of the schools I would like to apply to want to see each testing date, and I am concerned that during my last test I did well on a fluke. I have been taking practice tests and only scoring around a 1950 range. I am concerned that having a lower composite score at a later test date may actually hurt my admissions chances in spite of a slight increase in reading (usually averaging somewhere between a 610 and a 630). So my question to you all is, is it worth it to take the SAT again for 40-60 points in reading? will it hurt my chances of admission if my score goes down by such a large amount? I just need some help working through this, any advice is helpful! Thanks!!
It’s fine to take the SAT 3 times, but I think if you don’t feel prepared for this test, then you should wait until you get what you want on CR. Best of Luck!
