Should I Upgrade From a TI-84?

I’m going to be taking the Math II test as well as the Physics test.

I currently have a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and I’m thinking about upgrading to a TI Nspire CX CAS. I know CAS isn’t allowed on ACT, but it’ll be fine for AP tests and the SAT. I’m also taking AP Stats and AP Physics C.

Main thing that I’m looking for is speed. The TI-84 takes about 2 seconds to graph y=x and 3 or so to graph y=x^2
Zoom fit on a graph like y=sin(x)*x takes 8 seconds. These numbers seem small, but many times I zoom in multiple times and I have to wait for the calculator to reload.
From what I’ve seen of the Nspire CX, it can graph most functions pretty instantly. Also, it zooms in real-time.

So, with that being said, does anything have an Nspire CX CAS and think it’s faster and more useful than a TI-84? It looks like a lot of the options on the Nspire calculators are hidden behind menus and I’m not sure the touchpad is the swiftest either.

Thoughts?

I used one of the original NSpires, and you usually don’t need menus to access certain functions - you can usually just type them in (presuming you know how they work).

You can definitely upgrade, but you should keep cost into consideration as well.
