Ditto for my son jackdaniels. He just found out waitlist at Wash U…hoping now for USC.

Cindy…My son is hoping for engineering at USC (if he does not get in off the waitlist at Wash U)…glad to hear your son loves it. Any issues that we should know about?

^ I was waitlisted at Wash. U. too. Ughhhh. I hope USC will cheer me up.

i know! even though i didn’t expect a WashU acceptance, it’s really making me feel down.

I most definitely showed interest, but I think my grades were a little low for them. I didnt expect an acceptance either, but still…I really liked Wash U. This hurts!

jackdaniels, Cavmom, einnob

Don’t lose heart because of this. S was lucky to have been accepted to Washu, but as I was perusing their board this afternoon I read about students who, despite having received likely letters from the Ivies, got waitlisted by WashU. I think this just goes to show how unpredictable the college admission process has become. One school’s decision will not affect–and shouldn’t be viewed as an indication of–the outcome of your other applications. So let’s just all continue to wait for the letter from USC.

Just checked my Washu status, i got flat rejected not waitlisted =( then again, i did apply on Jan 1 the very last day…USC / UCLA are what I’m banking on to escape Indiana now

the very last day was actually the 15th not the 1st. and i applied the 14th haha, so i dont think that has anything to do with acceptances/waitlists/rejections.

yea i need to escape texas!

@TomisMom
thank you for the hopeful words. I try to be realistic about things though. A waitlist at WashU may as well be a rejection…

FWIW, my niece is greatly enjoying attending WASHU after being admitted off of the waitlist. It does happen.

Tomismom, thank you for your kind words.

momofgrowingkids, do you know when your niece heard back from Wash U about getting accepted from the waitlist?

got rejected from washu after they gave me a $500 scholarship this summer. maybe i can cash it in? haha, *******s.

here’s to usc!

^ouchhhhhh :[

When you guys say Wash U, you mean Washington University it St. Louis?

Yes, they recently released decisions.

Ah, don’t worry about getting rejected you guys. St. Louis, Missouri pales in comparison to LA anyways. USC USC USC!

I have a love/hate relationship with this thread/CC. I havent been thinking about it recently but then i log on to CC and I start getting paranoid about all the colleges that I am still waiting to hear from. Where are you April 1st!?!!

I’m not calling because I’m not as anxious as people in this. If I was anxious, then I would. I’ve checked this thread only a few times, not like every day for the last 2 weeks. Anyways, I wish you all luck.

@ MagicalMalik,

although I’m not a fan of Washington U, your comment doesn’t sound so nice…

Are you serious? I think it’s clear I’m trying to cheer people up rather than be mean. Though, I do apologize to the residents of St. Louis. St. Louis is a fine, respectable city with decent people! People who live there should be glad they get to call such a place their home! Hoorah!

Yeah magicalmalk was just trying to spread optimism. This is a USC thread anyway so the belittlement of other universities and the praise of USC shouldn’t be too surprising lol
