allanyue: Yes you are taking the right actions. If you live within driving distance of the school, or you can afford the airfare and time away from classes, visiting the campus is worthwhile. However, don’t feel compelled to visit the school if the costs of flying and booking a hotel room are too much. You can demonstrate interest from afar. If Wash U makes an appearance at another local event, show up. Also, feel free to reach out to admissions with additional questions. I’m from NY and my son was accepted to Wash U without visiting ahead of time. He did, however, demonstrate interest from afar by meeting with Wash U reps at his school and requesting to be sent information from the school.

Agree with sas. I don’t visit or interview, but when Wash u visited my high school, both my guidance counselor and I let them know it was my top choice (helps when you go to a small school of 26 people in a grade with less than 5 going to a top 15 school)

definitely reaching out to any of the washu reps who visit your school is a plus. keeping up a rapport with them throughout the year is really great too. interviewing is the best thing to do, but if that’s not possible, do everything you can to stay in touch!
