Silent digital watch?

An easy way is to keep resetting you hand watch back to say 12o clock after every section.

An even easier way would be opening up your watch and removing the paper that makes the watch beep

I’ve searched all over the web to see if anyone knows where I can buy one in a local store and the answer seems to be no. I’d really like to buy one in a store and can’t find one. Has anyone had any luck? I found two listed at silentstopwatch.com and examinator.com but both seemed sort of pricey. It really seems like you should be able to find one for $10.

Evertrue, don’t know if you bought one or not, but my tutor is recommending to all of her students (everyone bought one) to get the silentstopwatch watch you mentioned and are offering a discount with the total price $26.99 if you use their special link. I doubt that you have to be an Excel Test Prep student since the page never asked me if I was a student when I bought mine.

You have to use the link: www.silentstopwatch.com/exceltest/ and then the username: student and password: 2012sat . Not sure if Excel Test Prep is getting a kickback, but $26.99 with free shipping seems better than their regular price and a lot less than the examinator.

Hope this helps.

Did anyone ever find one?

I bought mine at Dollar Tree. I use it only for tests. That’s a cheap and easy solution.

If you are looking for a timer that does not make noise, you can check out testing timers website. It was just highlighted on ABC news. I know people who have used it in the test and had good results. Good luck with the test

Timers are no longer allowed at the test center unless they are on your watch.

I am a tutor of students taking the ACT and SAT. There was just an ABC news report on an ACT watch. I went to the site and was able to buy it. According to ACT, this watch is ok to use in the test. The site selling the watches is testingtimers (.com). This looks like exactly what my kids need.

Remove the back of your watch case (by unscrewing it or prying it open). There should be a sticker on the back you just removed. Cover this with tape or take it off, then put reattach your watch back. Now test the sound; it should be silent.

the watch I used beeped whenever I turned it on/off. My proctor didn’t seem to mind.

What’s wrong w an old fashioned analog watch? Do you REALLY need to know the remaining time down to the last second?
