Singaporean connection

^

it's a rare but not unheard-of occurrence for students to drop out of JC because they've been guaranteed spots at top universities. i remember a swimmer in jc a batch or two down leaving at the end of the first year and entering NS early because princeton assured him a spot. if you have no reason to doubt lisieux's (or his friend's) credibility, i'd suggest you cease implying otherwise.

... and grumble, maybe i should have done APs in NS for credit myself :(

I have a reason. I'm bored.

S33D, it's up to you whether to believe it or not. But I know for sure he did drop out of JC and he did get to Harvard. He is my friend and I know him personally.

Lol, lighten up guys, I was kidding. Good for him. Of course he must have deserved it as well.

haha guys, this is soo cool. did he have like terrific stats or something... it just seems impossible to do only 11 years of pre-u education and get into harvard? I mean like, how did he fill up the counselor and teacher rec??? hahaha.

anyway i get it now. but how to we take it in singapore? through relc?

My friend got into MIT a year early but s/he went to RSI and held solo recital.

APs are through the school. What school are you from?

rjc offers APs btw... but most ppl don't take it though

Yeah I get the feeling many Singaporeans might treat APs like more hardcore SAT IIs. To be honest I was trying to aim for AP state scholar but in the end I only took eight. It was enough for thirty credits though.

1234d, yeah, most, except our very good friend A. :P

hey guys, have you taken AP Macro and Microecons before? I didn't take Econs at the A levels but I wanna do the APs for credits. :)

Hmm, Princeton allows you to take AP courses for credit after you've enrolled? NOT FAIR. :p

im enrolling only in Sep next year. ?!

Oh, Sep 2009?

Different story then ... good luck.

this is regarding university applications. if the university asks us to mail them a certified score report of the SATs, where do we get it????

Login to collegeboard.com. You have to pay for each report sent.

i have already done that. but U Mich and USC requires applicants to mail a paper version of the results, in addition to sending directly from collegeboard.

Is it necessary for Singaporeans to send in mid year grades if the school asks for them. My common test grades aren't that grade and it would be better if I do not send them in

Huh? I don't know of any colleges that accept any reports mailed from the student.

I'm applying to upenn early decision but the subject test that i'm taking is only offered on 1 nov. the deadline of early decision is 1 nov. would they accept the application if i rush send it?
