Awesome, so I won’t have to bring my own!

I guess it would also be silly to bring a fan since the building is air conditioned? (Although, there’s always the chance that the AC could break down lol)

I brought a fan and never used it.

Are the floors co-ed?

floors are co-ed

thanks for the mirror clarity…my suite does in fact have a full length mirror we just never noticed it haha (because its behind the door which is always propped open)

@ hyperlite: if you can’t get black out curtains don’t worry too much, the blinds they have installed make your room very, very, dark even in the day, great for naps between class :)

Oh, so true! Those blinds are fantastic.

A/C: No west campus dorms have AC, in fact there is almost no A/C on campus. All cooling is done through pumping lake water from Cayuga. That being said, either Becker or Cook is the ONLY west campus dorm with cooling vents in the individual rooms. All the other west campus buildings have vents in the hallway or common area of the suite only.

Temperature: Northern facing rooms are generally pretty comfy, all other rooms are hit or miss. Some are too hot, some are too cold. If temperature is a real problem in your room (like you need a jacket) talk to the admin assistant in your house office (in Becker is Debra Opdyke) and see if anything can be done.

Bathrooms: Communal bathrooms are arranged with a center room that has two sinks, with two side rooms: one is a shower, the other a toilet. On larger hallways there are three of these bathrooms (1 male, 1 female, 1 uni) and then within each suite there is also a bathroom just like that.

Mirrors: been covered but it’s one per hallways room or one per suite.

Blinds: Don’t buy blackout shades before you get here. The shades here are pretty good and pretty weird. You should take a look at how the shades mount up as well as how dark the room gets (it’s pretty dark).

Sound: No one brings this up but the walls are paper thin. I can hear whispers from the double next to me. Some rooms have thicker walls, some don’t, just be ready for some fun with noisy neighbors.
