No letter rejection or acceptance for singletary, but I know 2 people who have received the award already :(. I’m a little worried.
First post, been browsing for six months or so. We too are waiting to hear back from the Singletary Scholarship.
Looks like it won’t be long now. Is the letter just for the Singletary or might it also cover the Presidential as well?
I have received the Presidential Scholarship letter already (but may be due to attending an in-state scholars program called GSP, which automatically makes me receive the presidential). It’s probable that the letters are coming very very soon. Good luck to all
@almostthere1: do you know where they live
@abcinv: I think it’s for all competitive scholarships
One lives in London, KY and the other lives around Lexington.
I’ve heard people in the past say they also received emails to their UK email accounts. Did your friends get emails or just letters? We are waiting to hear also and are signed up for Merit Weekend next weekend. Sure would be nice to know before then.
Still no letter today so my son contacted his UK recruiter. Greg emailed him back informing him that letters were mailed out yesterday (Thursday) and he should get his offer next week. Perhaps it will come in Saturday’s mail. Hopeful!
They just got letters as far as I know. Thank you @hescollegebound . That relieves some anxiety.
Oh, and non-related to UK, but many people I know who apply to UK also apply to UofL. I talked to the admissions counselor at UofL and those scholarships were mailed yesterday (friday 27)! Should get them today or begining of next week.
DS received his letter from UK today (we’re in Indiana). While he didn’t receive the Singletary, they did award him a presidential non-resident scholarship which is OOS tuition. The letter said that there were over 1,600 applicants this year. No wonder it took so long to get through all the interviews, LOL.
FYI, D officially received her Patterson Scholarship notification today.
My son’s letter arrived today, but he’s not home and I promised I wouldn’t open it. Ugh - keeping my promise and I’ll post later the details of the letter when he gets to open it.
No letter for us today, maybe Monday it’ll arrive to Ga. Congrats to the folks so Far!
Good luck hescollegebound.
Well, he got home and opened his letter. No Singletary - they just let him know that his GSP Presidential Scholarship would be his final offer. Still can’t complain about a $40,000 scholarship. Financial aid, other scholarships he has received and KEES should cover the majority of other expenses. Best of luck to everyone else. FYI - we are located in Kentucky which may be why we received our letter today.
Do they call with good news and mail the bad news? Envelope arrived and wondering if I give it to her before or after homework.
I just got my letter in the mail, can’t believe it but I received the Presidential OOS scholarship. Stunned because I was denied honors college acceptance
Congratulations on that scholarship!!! That is worth way more than Honors College acceptance. Many qualified students do not get offered spots in the Honors Program. OOS tuition is quite a big chunk of change.
We didn’t get the Singletary but was offered the Presidential Scholarship, and we’ll take it!
She was accepted to the Honors program, we’re very fortunate. She also decided to be part of the Lexengaged LLP, guess we’ll see how that goes.
Good luck to all!!
My D received her scholarship letter in the mail yesterday.
So do you only get a letter if you got a scholarship or do you get one either way?
