I declined my SIR for ucsd, and submitted my SIR for davis. However, now my parents are pushing me to go to ucsd, and they are pretty much forcing me to go. I guess ucsd will be bearable, so my question is if I already declined my SIR is there a way to get it back? I think I saw somewhere that if you call the admissions office you can, can anyone clarify this?

Yea, just call them. I don't see why they couldn't reverse this.

Either way, it doesn't hurt to try.

yea just call them. but you know, you didnt have to decline your SIR to ucsd if you weren't going there. it's not required.

koolaznpygmy, this is your education, not your parents. Just do what you feel is right in your heart. Just remember that you will perform best at the campus that you will feel happiest at.

I'll be applying to UCB, UCLA, and UCSD next year after I finish my junior year. I'll pick UCSD over both UCB and UCLA because I feel I will be the happiest there over the other 2 schools, despite the fact that it is lower ranked than them. Don't worry too much about rankings anyway, who cares about egotistical crap like that anyways because when you graduate, what matters the most is how much skill you possess and not so much on what school you went to.

Out of curiosity sakes, I asked my mom last Friday what happens if I get into UCB and UCSD for grad school, but I end up choosing UCSD. She said that it's a no brainer, to choose UCB no doubt. I said if that situation were to arise in the near future that I will be choosing UCSD over UCB.

By the way, I got accepted to UCSD today as a transfer student, but will be choosing Davis over UCSD. I'm saving UCSD for grad school. I love both schools equally.
