Skip school?

12 more, and I have 1000 posts!

I haven't been to school since last last Tuesday. I've missed about 13 days of school ( I stopped going after Spring Break.) Last year I had a total of 58 absences and the school didn't do anything.

it'll be really sad if this thread starter skips school for studying for the test and really gets sick. :D not that you will, of course.

I checked out today because I couldn't take anymore and I needed rest. Told the secretary that I had a headache and left.

I do not go to school before or after AP tests the same day. It is a waste of my time since I will lack concentration.

smartkid, have you been talking to sarorah?

I've known people who forge doctors signitures.

get a taxi

No, it is probably the simple fact that AP Chemistry is a difficult exam and he does not feel prepared to attempt it without a day's study.

Well, you never know. sarorah's been talking to a lot of people lately.

She attempted to IM me and failed, because I was eating my dinner of pork chops and homefries. Many people in my school are doing the same thing: spending the day at home to study. The AP results were not encouraging: many got scores of 10 and 20 on the MC section. (I had a 52, which is still not very good.)

who's sarorah?

My school cares a lot about attendance, and the fact is, I have missed school quite a lot. If I had one more unexcused absence, I would lose the course credit even though my average for that course is almost perfect.

sarorah is a very active junior on this forum, an Arab female from Virginia.

Well, sarorah's missed about sixteen days of school during this semester alone. That's quite a lot.

well...so far this semester (I'm a senior) I have about 20+ missed classes...if I don't feel like staying the entire day I just leave...

I have only missed five full days (+3 partially missed). That's out of three years in high school. Five in March, one in April, and two this week...

How dare you talk about sarorah like that!

Hey, we're best CC buddies. She said so. =)
I'm not dissing anyone here. Even with sixteen absences, she's at the top of her class. Pretty good for a person who misses a lot of school.

Thats funny because all you need here is a signed note from your parents which you could easily forge.

Here we can just skip school; the attendance office will just give a belated call to the residence of the student about how he/she was absent and needs to resolve the problem because of potential academic or extracurricular complications. It is easily screened by blocking the high school attendance office number by phone. There are no real consequences for skipping anything in terms of detention; people do so openly here without even so much as a peep from the supervisors, guards, or teachers.
