Go to school, go to the health room, and go home "sick".

With the way diseases are transferred in school, all one has to do is lick their hands after touching the stairwell handrails all day.

Yeah. Attendance isn't strict here. We had a bunch of kids missing this past week because they ditched to study for APs. Anything that's not a doctor's note or something like that, they consider it illegal, but nothing really happens.

we don't need notes (although we're supposed to have one), and we can just tell the nurse we won't be in the following day and they don't call either. we are allowed 20 absences for full year classes and 10 for half year classes....after that you have to request additional days in advance so you don't fail.

We are allowed any number of absences we wish to take...but the failure of class when you don't show up on an exam day is the consequence.

I've got it worked out with the attendance office so that any class that I miss from may 1st to may 12th is automatically excused, even if its just one period, or whatever, no need to sign out or give a reason.

Thats why my school is awesome, if they like you, they will do anything you want.

In terms of inexcused absence, however, after 4 you fail the class for the semester. Good thing our attendance lady (a mom) ensures this never happens.

Just take an unexcused absense!

What is more important: meaningless school assignments due that day OR AP Chem exam?

=====

Oh okay, I just read the part about not recieving course credit.
Go to the doctor and say you have a serious, serious headache.

...does it matter if it's an unexcused absence? I have about 15 of them for second semester...

I too, didn't read it.

But to answer your question, you oculd go to the doctor have some sort of sinus problems or something like that, he might write you a script you don't even need to fill, and get a docs note for it.

if we get over 10 absences per semester (excused OR unexcused), we lose credit for the course...and 3 tardies=1 absence...

Just say you attended a funeral.

Ugh I do not want to go to school tomorrow...we have a lab due in Honors Chemistry and supposedly its worth 70 points, and this time its graded based on accuracy. So if our measurements are the slightest bit off due to margin of error or something, then we are SCREWED, and right now we have 5 weeks left of school, so everybody is cracking down. And I have an 80.92 in chem. X_X. gah. AND to worsen the matter, I was absent on one of the days of the 3 day lab experiment, so I'm not quite sure what I missed.
