Smith Waitlist 2018

I was wait listed at Smith and am really disappointed because it's my top choice. I am wondering if anyone has gotten word from admissions to be removed from the wait list? I know they will call to let students know.

Hey I’m in the same boat as you :frowning: ! I haven’t heard anything but I called admissions to check up and they were reviewing my file. So call!!!

@irisd6991‌ I hope it works out for you!! I called one of the front desk ladies and they said they couldn’t release any information…did you talk to your regional admissions counselor?

My DD was just informed she was accepted off the waitlist. They called her Wednesday afternoon. We are now waiting for the official letter with financial aid info. They said she’ll then have about a week to decide. Stressful, because Smith had been her top choice, but then she’d very happily moved on with Plan B. A lot will depend on the $$ now. Don’t know if this is helpful to you, but just FYI!

@sugarski‌ honestly I mean I called my admissions officer yesterday and she didn’t tell me anything so I’ve basically abandoned all hope. I’m extremely high financial need. my efc is $2000. It wouldn’t benefit them to take me off the wait list since I would need a full ride. :frowning: congrats to your daughter!!!

@irisd6991, have you heard anything yet? My D ended up getting extremely generous FA and she will be a Smithie this fall. Best of luck to you and @bubblesrock! Hope it all works out!

It absolutely can pay off to call Admissions and say, “If admitted, I will come.” Takes the guesswork off of their end and improves yield.
