So anyways...has anyone determined which residence halls they want to stay in?

I'm really looking forward to getting a spot at the shoreland (most amazing place to stay at a University).

I'm really looking forward to getting a spot at the shoreland (most amazing place to stay at a University).

Housing applications are first come, first served if I remember correctly, so fill it out and send it in if you know what you want.

I already applied for my housing, and I had some pretty unpopular choices. My picks were:

Broadview
2./3. Breckenridge and McClean, I forget which order

As you can see, I'm quite eager to get a single.

Snell Hitchcock
Burton Judson
Who knows? These two are the most popular, correct?

Honestly, wherever you stay, you will still have the time of your life here :-)

hey, congrats! I'm an EA-er, lol. Looking forward to meeting you RA-ers.

I'm really looking for a single too, not far from the university.

Snell and BJ are the closest for singles, but they also fill up pretty quickly. If you're willing to sacrifice a bit of distance, go for Maclean. Broadview and Breck are much further, but the people there love them.

What amy fails to mention is that BJ is well, THE MOST AMAZING THING EVEEEEER!!! More specifically, Vincent House in BJ is awesome

(I'm sure that I have not made my housing situation obvious to anyone.... lol)

Oooooooh, tell me more about this BJ, and give me info about the single rooms. Sorry if I sounded like I was making a sexual innuendo :P

Chicago is the only school I could think off that could get away with a dorm like BJ without being constantly rained down on with double entendre :)

Yeah, I don't think it matters when I send housing, because I only really want Max P or Shoreland, which are the two largest anyway.

Shoreland is amazing. Huge bedrooms, walk-in closets, private bathrooms, living room, kitchen with stove/oven/full size refrigerator, and best of all, you can lay in bed and watch the sailboats on Lake Michigan.

Or you can end up with a forced triple. With Shoreland for incoming first years, there's really no telling.

I'm really liking Broadview, but I'm not sure I want to live so far from campus. Thoughts?

Same here.

My first three choices are B-J, Pierce, or Snell-Hitchcock.

I'm not a fan of commuting a mile to campus everyday...seems too much like high school. Definitely not a fan of that. Plus you lose the sense of collegiate community if you're off campus all the time.

I really want a single room with private bathroom. Applying to which house would give me maximum chances of obtaining this?

Broadview is singles and private bathrooms. Shoreland has some, and Max has some with bathrooms between two people, but you won't get those as first years.

dahlia: single room w/ priv br would have to be broadview. i dont remember if maclean or breckinridge has private bathrooms, but those two are also single rooms. and those 3 are not as popular as shoreland or max, i think...

and mach, although broadview is off campus u can always take the bus to campus which takes only a few min. but for me personally im too lazy about having to catch the bus every morning for class.

Doesn't BJ have single rooms with private bathrooms? (here we go again :P)

How difficult is it to live in Shoreland?
