Dear Student,

Admission decisions for applicants to the Princeton Class of 2014 will be available online on Thursday, April 1, 2010 after 5 p.m. EDT. We also will send decision letters by standard mail to all applicants.

If you already registered to use Princeton’s Application Tracking System to verify whether we received all of your application materials, you must use that username and password to see your decision.

If you have not yet registered, you must register to use Princeton’s Application Tracking System. Due to the large number of students we anticipate visiting the site when it goes live, the registration system will be unavailable from 4 to 6 p.m. EDT on April 1, 2010. Accessing your decision online involves a two-part process:

To register you must have two pieces of information: the email address and PIN you recorded on your Princeton application. You will use the email address and PIN from your application to create a username and password. We recommend that you write down the username and password you create when you register. To register, go to <a href=“https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/ ”>https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/.

;

In order to view your decision, you will be required to enter the username and password you created during registration. Please note that your username and password are not the same as your email address and PIN.

To protect the confidentiality of your decision, do not share your username and password with anyone. When you have finished viewing your decision online, be certain to close your browser.

After 5 p.m. on April 1, please go to <a href=“https://notify.princeton.edu/ ”>https://notify.princeton.edu/ ; to view your decision. You may wish to bookmark this link ahead of time. Be sure to copy and paste the entire link. Note that it begins with https, rather than http.

Applicants who did not list an email address and PIN on the application will need to wait for their decisions to arrive by standard mail. They may also call our office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EDT beginning on Monday, April 5, 2010.

Thank you for applying to Princeton.

Sincerely,

Thanks!! That email indeed looks like it doesnt really mean anything. We will all just have to wait and see. :)

maybe their just confirming decisions and as then confirm that everything is accurate, they send out batches of emails?

Hahahah I love the contradictory theories on different forums.

Like how above some people have gone on and on about how not getting an email is a good sign, while some on the Penn forum think its impossible to get in without this generic email :P

^
i know…
speculations are rampant here on CC…

No one not on CC can ever understaaaaaand, haha.

every forum i go to… harvard, cornell, princeton… oh gosh, its ok though… people are anxious… a little false hope wont hurt…

@R - I tried to limit my CC use until 2nd semester of my senior year. Now I’m just ready to graduate. :-P

No email here. I’m in the Midwest.

Bob just got his about 20 minutes ago.

Well, I got the email now. (3 hours ago, actually)

Finally got the email. It feels kind of impersonal… it was addressed to “Dear Student”, rather than my name. At least Cornell put my name in the email, haha :D

Finally! I can relax. I got it.

Why is getting an email a BAD thing, you ask? There are a TON of people who got it, and a few who didn’t, so it’s probably better to place yourself in that group.

i think it went in alphabetical order, either by email or last name

it could be a bad thing not to get it because it could mean that spam blockers are blocking importnat emails, so you could have missed something… also, wouldn’t it be stupid not to tell people who got in how to check their decision?

^ I just got the email… I’m a Midwesterner.

It seems that mine was in the last batch, and my possible letters are L and J - so alphabetical might not work.

Got mine a couple hours ago. International but applying from Washington, if that helps.
