So I called the Admission office...(look at if you have been forwarded forever)

^Look at some other new threads and I wouldn’t get too excited at this point.

yeah after being on ‘forwarded’ for about a month mine changed to reviewed today too…is this a good thing?

Has anyone received any “Denied” notices?

No one has been rejected from USC yet.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/892304-backdoor-links-not-reliable-anymore-being-reviewed-doesnt-mean-anything.html</a></p>

Have any of you been rejected yet?

Have all of you been forwarded at some point?

Think about this and I would love to hear your opinions.

If you were forwarded for committee review, do you think that means that your application passed the first “cut” with central admissions (yes) and they then forwarded your ap to the school to which you applied? That committee makes a decision and they then send that decision back to central admissions for processing. Thus, the status changes.

Do you think that the majority of applicants even made the first cut out of central admissions? I would think not. They would not send 36,000 applications out to the various schools. They probably FORWARD the applicants to the committee for the school whom they have deemed good candidates. The committe makes a decision and sends the ap back to central admissions.

Maybe they took a bit longer on some than others. I am just speculating because I don’t know the admissions process.

Do not give up hope yet! :)

We only know what is happening in a very limited pool of very qualified applicants. (small homogeneous sample size with a limited restriction of range) For all we know, some people in the general applicant pool were never even forwarded.

I am still forwarded.
I applied to Marshall.
I don’t know how i stand against others, but i got into Emory and was waitlisted at Rice.

6.32/6.5
2140

Some people have already recieved rejection letters, and several have recieved acceptance letters. It’s probably just a matter of waiting on the mail at this point.

Wait have the status been for those rejected?

some people have already received rejection letters?!?!what?! :frowning: :frowning: :(

I thought rejections were not sent until after April 1st…

What* is what I intended above

The status’ are kind of irrelevant. Figure there’s a TON of applicants, do you really think they’d have enough time to update each one? My friend got her acceptance to USC a week or two ago, but her status says “in review.” It’s totally mixed up with acceptances and rejections, I doubt the school sits there and sorts out the letters based on the mailing date. Every single one of us who is waiting for a letter could easily be accepted or rejected. There’s no figuring out or predicting how it works. It could totally be dependent on your application, supplemental applications, etc…

I second that motion.

No rejections have been sent out.

^or…they have.

Yeah, people have said in other posts that they’ve been rejected. It’s not like USC would wait until April 1st to tell someone with like, a 2.0 and no ec’s that they were rejected, especially when they can get it out of the way early.

I have not seen a single post on here from anyone who has been rejected… rejections have not been sent out.

Correction; everyone on here THINKS they have been rejected.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/888589-rejection-fever.html?highlight=rejection+fever</a></p>

I’ve seen them in threads for other colleges where students have said they’ve been rejected and on posts throughout the USC threads. Schools don’t wait until the very end to say no.
