So it won't hurt if I don't take a certain pre-req?

I plan on registering for my spring classes tomorrow and I'm wondering if it would hurt my chances at Davis (and others) if I didn't take a certain pre-req that I listed as "planned" on my app.

The issue though is that assist.com says I only need "one of the following" courses, and I already took one of them. Moreover, my counselors keep insisting that I take the other course listed on Assist.

It's a really dull class that I really want to avoid during my last semester at CC.

Depends on what the class is and what your major is, if your counselors are insisting you take it, I advise you to listen to them… I know counselors can be addle-brained sometimes but they generally know what they’re talking about. If you have all your pre-reqs done, in general, you’re fine. But then there are other times when… you kinda aren’t fine, if you listed it as planned, I’d take it, honestly. Unless it’s Mathmatics of Quantum Neutrino Fields it can’t be that dull.
