...because there are so many orientation type days! Can someone tell me what the important ones are? I got my acceptance letter, and there are the LSA campus days. But there has to be another orientation thing too, right? Like over the summer or something? And I'm a bit confused about what the campus days do. Do you register for classes and stuff, or just walk around the school and meet your adviser? My parents will only send me back there for one (either campus days or orientation), so I need to know which one is best, and how they differ. Thanks guys, go blue!

Orientation is required, campus day is optional. You will register for an orientation date online at some point for over the summer.

ok, is it pretty much the same thing though? Like would it really matter if I didn't go to campus day? thanks :)

Your orientation is pretty important in the scheme of things. You'll meet with your adviser, some peer advisers (older students), get a tour around campus, register for classes, get your mCard, etc etc etc.

Campus days are more oriented towards you seeing if this is a place you'd like to attend. I never went to one so I can't really elaborate. But orientation is where the business gets done -- do that.

Edit: No, I never went to a campus day either. I believe its to your advantage to go to an earlier orientation as I believe you'd get a better pick at classes (but I could be making that up).

Orientation is required if you are gonna go here.

Campus day is a little one day tour for admitted students trying to make up their minds.

ok, I'll just go to orientation though. I'm a little confused at game's edit though lol. Do you get a pick of dates? If so, do they just send you info on it when you send in your deposit?

You get a choice for orientation. There's no way to put all the incoming freshmen on one orientation session. They'll send you more info eventually, and then you can register online for the date you'd like.

You will receive an Orientation packet - sign-up as soon as you receive it - orientation days fill up fast. Daughter's orientation was July and several courses were filled - they worked it out but it wasn't easy or quick.

We found the key is don't put off registering for Orientation, or Football Tickets! Housing is pretty much a lottery system but probably not a good idea to delay registering for that either! This board is very helpful!

Thanks so much! So I'm assuming the O packet will come when I put in my deposit, as will info about those sacred tix lol....

You guys have been great, I hope my adviser is as good as you!
