So what happens after you TAG?

So we submit the TAG on the 1st, then we just sit back and wait till about how long?

Are there things we are supposed to follow up with until then?

Thank you in advanced.

If i remember correctly last year whenI TAG, the schools will email you if your TAG get accepted around November. UCD sent out the result around November 12th last year. so from Nov 1st to 15th you will know if your TAG has been accepted. Each school release the result at diff date.

darn thats long. then regular acceptances start around april?

yup waiting for regular acceptances are much longer lol.it felt like years for me

As long as we meet the requirements the school states on their TAG criteria, we shouldn’t have any problems getting accepted right?

^good question.

You should be fine - but last year Irvine and Santa Barbara sent out vague messages - there was a “positive” one and a “negative” one. Davis straight up said if you were in or not.

I don’t know what they plan to do this year, but maybe since everyone is limited to one TAG, they might be more straightforward.

It’s nice knowing in November you have one in your pocket, definitely made me feel better!

then why did you decide berkeley?

Davis was never my first choice, but in case I didn’t get into Berkeley or LA, I would’ve gone there. (LA was my first choice since I never expected to get into Cal - I had TAP). SB and Irvine were also back ups - I definitely wanted to get out since it was my third year at CC and I didn’t want to waste anymore time.

smart. so you signed up for C.Confidential. right after high school about then.

wish i knew about this in 06 when I graduated. i would have been in that “one year transfer” thread. -_____-

what is it with UCLA? what is your major & career goal?

I wish I had known earlier too. I got sick in the middle of my jr year but then I still applied as a high school student. Otherwise I probably could’ve finished in a year too.

UCLA was my first choice since I was in elementary school. I loved the location, the environment, etc. They have a great English program. But Berkeley’s is ranked #1 so I couldn’t turn that down. They have amazing resources for an English major and a big department. It’s also closer to home and I knew my parents + family were rooting for it haha. I like Berkeley’s environment too.

I’m an English major but after this I plan to go to grad school for Public Policy or Law school. I’d like to do work in civil rights so something along the governmental field or small non-profit organizations. Or on the flipside, go into journalism lol.

If you have more questions, you can always PM me - I feel like I hijacked the thread.

thank you for the meaty reply. are you a minority?

I guess technically I’m a minority but probably not according to the UCs. I’m South Asian.

oh. & english is your first language?
