I accepted my place on the waitlist.

I don't think going on the waitlist, get a late acceptance and declining it will really hurt anyone else's chances on the wait list. If you decline admission while on the wait list they will just choose another candidate. It shouldn't effect any one else's ability to move off the waitlist. Not that I belive they will go very far into the waitlist anyway.

is it me? or does virtually everyone get waitlisted? anyways, the wait list is just an insurance policy for the college. i accepted a spot on the wait list, but i'll probably turn an admittance down

I was going to accept my place on the waitlist (I'd signed and dated the card already) but not anymore because today I got into Yale!!!! Yay, so so so so so so so happy!!!!

Well, keep in mind that if you accept a place on the waitlist and get in but don't want to go, yes they will move to another person, but think about the extra time it would take... I for one know that I would want to know as soon as possible where I was going to college... Why draw it out for someone else?

^ That is a good point! I was wondering if we get accepted off the waitlist, then enrollment is mandatory. I guess it's not. And we will pay the full cost to attend. Interesting...

the only decision i've received from an accreditted school is wash u. thats why i accepted a spot on the waiting list. i don't want to go to one of the city colleges in NYC, if i get rejected from my other colleges and wash u accepts me... then i'll probably wind up at wash u.

I was waitlisted at 3 schools (including WashU of course). Accepting a place on the wait list isn't binding is it? In other words, can I accept the wait list spot at all three schools?

I did. WashU is my top choice, so I'll accept any chance to get in.

I am an international student and i accepted a spot on the waitlist. Not so sure about gettin in though. I was waitlisted by U Penn too. Hve a tough choice if I get both

international student, accepted a spot for olin. wait, how do you know what you're waitlisted for if you got to rank the schools in order of preference? can't they accept you to any school that you ranked then? i checked off CAS and olin i think.

hey guys, just wondering do you have any advice on how to improve chances of getting out of waitlist? I'm an international student too, and i really doubt the chance of admission.
