Soon applying to these schools for Engineering (RIT,NYIT,MANHATTAN, SUNY ESF)

SAT:1460(I know it sucks)
Average Grades: 90's (took all the hard courses in my school) (Grades are on GIANT curve)
Community Service: None (ugh...)
Work: Worked for a non profit for 4-years and currently working at a golf course.

I'm looking to major in some sort of engineering and I'm looking into these schools.
-Rochester Institute of Technology
-New York Institute of Technology
-Manhattan College
-Suny Environmental Science and Forestry

Please tell me what are my chances of getting into these schools and if they are reach, match or safety school.
Also, Please tell me if you have been to any of these places if that engineering programs in any good??

*Please be honest...

I gather that the 1460 is in all 3 categories. While the SAT will not get you into any school it may keep you out. Your score may keep you out of RIT and SUNY Environmental. Try to take it again. I am a Manhattan graduate in engineering and thought it was a great place (granted that was a long time ago). My first son did excellent in school and gave serious consideration to Manhattan (he was accepted to U Penn., Vanderbilt, Cornell, etc.) as he really liked the atmosphere. I have friends who went to both RIT and NYIT. AS a whole the RIT grads seem to be happier with there experience but this is a small sampling and you should visit all the schools and gather as much information as possible to make an informed decision. Best of Luck.

Thanks. There’s just something about the SAT that i can’t do well on it >.<
Other insights please?

Other things i forgot to add:
Ethnicity: Filipino
Income level: I only make like 6. (if that) from caddying in one year.My mom only makes like 12k after taxes.(Poverty level) No dad.

I’m just stating this because i know some schools consider socioeconomic situations in the admission process

When you are looking at schools, look at the size of their endowment. Schools with larger endowments can make up your financial needs better and with less or no loans. You should get some really good financial packages. That is one of the factors that has both of my children at Vanderbilt University. I really can’t say enough good things about Manhattan. It is a relatively small campus and all your professors will know you. This can be good and bad, but they will definitely take an interest in you. You may want to highlight in you college essay how your socio-economic situation has effected/molded you. I know RIT has some really great facilities other than that I am not much help with the other schools. If you live in NYC, Manhattan has a strong alumni presence there. Again best of luck.

You might want to try to take the ACT instead - some kids find that easier than the SAT.
