Perfect! The admissions counselors love seeing things like that that show your interest in the school @aquas98

If you attended the lecture but did not leave your name/address, then it won’t be factored into “interest”. Interest = going on an official tour (where you sign your name, preferably registering ahead of time), filling out the “request info” form on the website, emailing admissions with a relevant question ( opposite of “pestering them with questions you should have found answers to yourself if you’d bothered reading the website”), asking for an interview …

@MYOS1634 Did all of that for both UPenn and Duke lectures, and UPenn tour. However whenever I went to Duke it was not official, probably going to do that this summer.

Good! You’re good for “interest” then. :)

I would say that everything looks good, especially for you being a sophomore. I do agree that your classes could do more to emphasize your passion for a Biology major, but I understand that you can’t always control exactly what classes you can take, and I’m sure colleges will take notice of the AP’s and Honors. To be honest, the fact that you have taken time to do this signifies that you are on the right track, as most sophomores really don’t focus on this stuff at all (and I’m talking about sophomores even at a prestigious boarding school). The Ivies require constant work from any hopeful applicants, but I honestly thing you would be accepted to a lot of the schools you listed here.

Definitely on the right track!!

Definitely on the right track!!! good luck and thanks for your chancing of me

My only recommendation would be to take more ap’s junior year if you can. But other than that everything looks great. Keep up the good work!!

@W01v3r1n3 OK, the most that we can take in 11th is 4. I’ll see if I take APUSH or Honors US History

Your resume is pretty good for these schools but I think going in undeclared and then completing the bio prerequisites would somewhat heighten your chances, especially with John’s Hopkins which has an über competitive med/science program. As for your safties, unless you picked them because they’re in state, you could pick some higher tier safeties

@osanilevich My number 1 safety is Penn State because it would only cost $30,000 (after all expenses) per year. And it has a great pre-med program.
That is a really good idea about John Hopkins. Thanks

Yeah you’re definitely on the right track. Those are some impressive stats but it’s hard to really chance you since you’re only a sophomore. If you get some leadership roles in your clubs next year that’d help a lot. Get 34+ on ACT to increase your chances at schools like Penn and NW. Your gpa is kinda low though so you have to get stellar grades rest of your years or your chances decrease dramatically.

@Kei04086 Yeah I messed up my freshman year; thought that I would easily get great grades. Current Nine Weeks I have 2 A+, 3 A, and 2 A-. (4.3 W, 3.9 UW)

Great stats, try and get GPA up a little bit but EC’s and ACT are fantastic, you’re definitely on the right path

You seem to be in good shape. Try to raise that gpa a little. Your on the right path

I think that you are on the right track for going in to Duke (ED) and Penn

Good Luck :)

Your extracurriculars are great and your grades are great as well. If you keep up the good work and enroll in the AP classes, I’d say Duke, Northwestern, and John Hopkins are matches. I’ve always heard that with Ivy Leagues it’s a crap shoot, but I’d say you have a decent chance with Penn as well.

All the colleges you’re aiming for are in the Top 20, and since we don’t know what your junior year will be like, I’ll say you’re a reach right now. 3.76 certainly isn’t low, I mean if youre in the top 10% with it, then youre doing very well. The only problem would be if the 3.76 was only in the top 30% or something, which shows you arent doing that great academically. School ranking >> Unweighted GPA in my opinion. I mean there are crappy HSes who give out 4.0 unweighted gpa like candy.

Good ECs, and even if you were a junior with the exact same stats you’d be a great candidate for any Top 30 school, unless the school was almost strictly In-state students like UVA (which only admits around 1000 OOS students per year).

Remember that the most important colleges for you to choose are your two safeties - you must be 100% sure you’ll get in, the net price calculators or automatic scholarships must make them affordable, and, MOST DIFFICULT you must like them. It means they should have some characteristics in common with your dream schools, even if they’re less selective and even if you are among the top 10-25%

@MYOS1634 I don’t think that I am a 100% shoe in for Pitt and Penn State but its up there in the 80%+
