I like the semester schedue… but mostly just because i’m so used to it i guess.

and diamondbacker-- I totally understand. Despite how hard it is going to be, I’m atually kind of looking forward to next year. I’m just so anxious for this year to be over!

do you guys think soph year is the most boring?

At my school, sophomore yr is the hardest because of a really hard (but really good) English/theology teacher. Even though I’m doubling my number of AP’s next yr, it should be easier.

soph year isn’t THAT boring… actually, second semester is a lot of fun. first semester of sophomore year everybody is immature as a freshman yet doesn’t get picked on, so they get really arrrogant and all. second semester we start acting normal and thats when the fun begins…

Sophomore year isn’t really exciting at my school. No AP classes (none offered until junior year), nothing out of the ordinary, just a bit more challenging than freshman year…

Every time I’ve been home this year I wished I was in school. I don’t know why. My family just…frustrates me. But then again, some things at school really get on my nerves too. At least at school I’m doing something.

7 more weeks of official classes. 9 weeks total until summer…

Hello!
I swim and play raquetball. I’m dreaming of making states via swimming. I think it may be possible if I assert myself. I think my school is boring. I envy Teenage_Cliche’s ability to time manage well. My SAT scores went up similarly with no training. (P.S. I’m wondering if you would mind me giving you away). We’re not AP challenged. AP-s only for juniors. All AP-s are real AP level classes. Our English department fought with collegeboard over copyrighting the title “AP” (collegeboard makes way too much money anyway). So AP was taken out of the title LC. I am planning on taking:
English IV (essentially AP English becuz we have a 2 year accelerated English track as the default)
Physics honors
AP Biology (yay Neil A. Campbell <3)
AP Spanish or LC audit probably LC because it’s more practical
AP US history part II (we’re taking a semester of APUSH now)
Precalc Extened Honors
Senior Orchestra
Two PE classes (I chose yoga and martial arts as my first options)

This summer I’m planning on SAT prep to get it up to at least a 2300, hopefully to a 2400. I believe that last practice test I took was bogus. I feel I’m ~2200 right now. Studying for SAT II World for September or something. Precalc self studying. SAT II Korean next June as a junior because that’s when the SAT curves tend to be lower. I’m travelling to London/France over the summer. I’m looking into going to 3rd world countries to volunteer. I’m applying for jobs at labs right now. I want to self-study ASL so I can be pres with authority. Swim training. If I have time doing stuff for NYSMMA level 6 so I can say I finished NYSMMA testing which I should’ve done two years ago, but now it is too late to do festivals before applying to colleges.

Lastly: YAY 20-ten. That’s what my class says.

Teenage_Cliche: I hate our sweatshirts. ::stab stab::
now why can’t I be like Sandy Fong?

P.S. Anyone know of prestigious free programs for middle schoolers(rising 8th grader)? (science and math geared) If not free then ridiculously affordable like <2000 a month for residential programs. <500 for weekly programs that are residential.

freetshirtsorg: I would mind you giving me away. I don’t want people on CC to know my name, etc; stats are bad enough.

I don’t mind our sweatshirts. I think they’re the lesser of many, many evils.
Plus, the blue doesn’t look that bad. It’s just the pink that’s really revolting :)

This year hasn’t been so bad, but I am excited for junior year. My school offers so many different and interesting classes (i.e. Holocaust, Gay and Lesbian, Democracy and Your Rights, etc).

@thelittlemermaid - I read your post on the previous page. What do you like about CU? I’m also interested in applying there in a few years. Do you know how solid the academics are? I understand that acceptance rate doesn’t make a big difference, but I don’t understand why CU’s would be 80% I think.

sushi_error: Well, I’m interested in studying English and Philosophy, and I heard the philosophy department there is pretty good, so I really want to consider it. Also, it’s in D.C. which is a nice city. I’m not sure about the other academic departments, but I know they have several different schools, like the School of Philosophy, School of the Arts, ect.

Next year is going to be awesome but hard. I want to know who the new junior AP English teacher is, because the other one got fired. I know a teacher who used to do it and who I’d really love to do it, but I’m not sure they will. I’m hoping, though.

In addition my school just expanded their electives, so there’s a bunch of new interesting stuff to try. I chose Intro to Philosophy (newly added course, and I can’t wait!) and Psychology (old course).

^Oh, not like that for me. I’m just going to remember how much fun I had in 9th grade, when I didn’t particularly care about an A vs an A- and had a bf, etc.

I guess i exaggerated what i said… I have some friends and hang out with them but i never have been to a party or done anything really special with friends… or any major social event.

Hey, I am a sophomore too…
Sophomore year is going well for me too…but the so-called “dreaded” junior year is coming up–
Since everyone is sharing their AP stories…I will too-
My school doesn’t have any AP classes: problem solved
I still will take some of the exams though, because we do learn English and Calculus, even if its not called “AP”
I should do my homework now…but I’ll be back…
