Sorry, but...

Wait, so you can just get an image off the internet?

You have to scan? or take a pic and upload it?

SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER.

yeah, that would probbaly be copyright infringement

Really? It’s exactly what I would take a picture of. It’s just a food item.

Nah i used a pic from google and everything was fine…

^okay, good…because i dont have the item in the house right now!

Like, if a random admission person likes your box, your chance of admission goes up? Or is it just a fun thing for admission ppl haha idk

I dunno I have no idea how seriously to take this…

I emailed admissions in October, and they said it’s totally okay to pull something off the internet. If you’re that paranoid bout copyright like me, include the link in your document.

Haha, mine is about food, so not too serious (though food can be a serious issue!).

yeah…it’s pretty common…so copyright shouldn’t matter.

So it wouldn’t be strange to put a box of veggie burgers? haha

Search google images for the item you want. Google images are usually free. You can download or right-click on the image and select save image as …

Google images are fine. I did it.

The funny thing about the box is that it seems to really freak applicants out; there are only 2 rules: That it’s 1) 2-D and 2) scannable. That’s it.

When you guys attached the picture to your application, did it actually show up in the little box or was it added at the end as another page?

It was added at the end as another page for me. I couldn’t figure out a way to actually get it into the box …

^Mm, me neither.

Could you give me an example of something that is 2-D but is not scannable???

Well, anything translucent or reflective won’t really scan properly.

Right, it won’t let me upload anything.

To be clear: It says on the supplement to upload something 2d and scannable and that “the image must be inserted into a .doc file or scanned as a .pdf file to be uploaded. The file must be under 500 KB.” So I have this jpg I got off google and I copied and pasted it onto a word doc and it’s under 500 kb and will. not. upload. Am I doing it wrong? Have I gone crazy?

^That’s exactly what I did, except it uploaded correctly and was on a the last page of the supplement…

^That’s what I did as well.

I took 2D to mean stick figures… no depth in the image. But I could be wrong.
