Spare a minute and mark my essay?

Please and thank you in advance :)

The prompt is from the practice section in the Writing section of the Bluebook:

"Is deception ever justified?"

In my opinion, deception is never really justified.Various examples from history and literature support my stand.

In the book "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, the protagonist's elder sister, the ever so lovely Ms. Jane Bennet falls for the charming Mr. Bingley.Although this match is met with happiness from the lady's side, the friends and close relatives of Mr Bingley, namely his two sisters and Mr. Darcy are less than pleased. They percieve it as a mismatch and are repelled by Ms. bennet's low connections, low position in society and lack of fortune. However, they keep up a cheery facade in public, the sisters being all goodness towards Jane.
On observing the growing closeness between Jane and their brother, they, along with Mr. Darcy, manage to convince mr. Bingley of Ms. Bennet's indifference toward him and manage to keep him in London, away from her,the whole of winter.
Regardless of their friend's true feelings, they believe that they are doing Mr. Bingley a favour by keeping him from entering into a match that would be looked down upon by friends and family alike.
Ms. Bennet percieves his absence as evidence of his not having more than friendly feelings towards her and her gentle frame of mind is shattered.

Their deception, which may have had all of 'good intention',succeeded in breaking the hearts of two of the kindest and gentle souls in their company. They might have help only care and concern for Mr. Bingley, yet by decieving him about Ms. Bennet's true feelings for him, they only succeeded in throwing their friend into the depths of despair.
Hence,in my opinion, deception is never really justified.

A/N-Okay,I know it has a few reaLLy dumb errors, but this was my second attempt at writing an essay(and I was really short of time...as i am sure all of us are),and I really wanted to know how this attempt would have fared in a real SAT test. Also,im an international student and none of my teachers or friends really know how to grade an SAT essay and that is why im asking for your help :)

3/6 or 5/12.

Expressions like “depths of despair” and “gentle frame of mind” come off as pretentious padding, by the way.

^^ Hey perfectpixie, I happen to have the essay for the same topic which I wrote on. I’ll share it on CC so u + other CC’ers can see.

crouch88-that bad huh? Thanks for the advice, any more tips you have would be welcome.
I think that I shall stick to the famous ‘5 paragraph format’ that seems to be so popular here, what do you think?hehe, this was just an attempt of mine a looong time ago, when i knew next to nothing about the essay.Still dont know much actually.Ive been focusing on CR and quite neglecting the essay. My main problem seems to be time management.I spend about 5 minutes just thinking about the ideas and staring at the clock :expressionless:
Any tips on how to manage my time while formatting and writing?

benhpark-Yep,I would love to see it!Have you taken any SAT till now?If you have, could you pm me the essay from it too?I really want to get an idea of what a good essay looks like.
Oh and is there any thread of ‘good’ SAT essays on cc?

Lol I’m in no place to offer advice since I’m scoring 6’s (out of 12) as well, but I’ll tell you what bothered me. Basically, the problem is that you retold a snippet of the story for too large a part of essay and neglected focusing on drawing its relevance to your thesis. Also, you’d have been much better off if you had went for more than 1 example.
