Specific Question About Michigan Application

I'm applying to michigan, but I'm not sure what I want to major in. When I apply it says "What School or College are you applying for?" before I can fill in the application. I don't know what I should put. Anyone know?

Also, if would it be smart to put something like School of Kinesiology or whatever is less selective and then change if/when I get accepted? My friend said that he knows someone who applied to a really good school as a music major and switched.

The largest and broadest school is the LS & A, literature science and arts. Personally I'm interested in pre-med, history, and pre-law, and it would encompass all of those. If your not sure I'd recommend applying there, and if you decide you want to go into business or engineering then you can always transfer.

goblue10nis: you know that there's no such major as "pre-law" or "pre-med" right? "Pre-med" is just a collection of classes that one needs to take because they are pre-reqs for medical school.

A Greek literature major can be pre-med if he takes the requisite coursework. One needs to take the MCAT or LSAT. People are free to major in whatever they wish.

Thanks. I haven't really considered any majors except business, but I'm just not sure. I guess I'll do what you said.

well if you are considering business you should apply as a preadmit to Ross. I would put LSA as the school you are directly applying to. You have to write an extra essay for the preadmit, but if you are accepted in to that and maintain a certain GPA your freshman year you are automatically accepted into Ross. If you aren't accepted as a preadmit you can always reapply once you are there.
