@artsyfartsy96 Ugh, that’s annoying but registration will just be trial and error. I have a bunch of courses I want to take that fit into my schedule and their CRNs and I will just have to try and get them. (Ugh, ugh, ugh.) And okay to the printing. I will just have to remember to keep my declining balance well-nourished if I can’t bring my printer.

Hellow guys!@ I also remained on the waitlist,
FIT told me that they will give final decision after Jan 5th… I dont know there is still possibility or not…Im so worried…

@emart95 Registration is frustrating, especially when you’re trying to go to school only three days a week. If you’re having problems with the classes you have in mind, try to register for other courses that would count towards your degree. You can take the recommend fourth semester classes if you’re a first semester student, and vice versa. Like I said earlier, the course can’t have any pre-reqs or major restrictions.

Quick tip, but say if you are printing in the library and you’re low on declining balance, there are machines where you can put money onto your card, so always carry a bit of money on you just in case. I would not stress about it!

@artsyfartsy96 I couldn’t imagine. I’m trying to fit my schedule in four days, just because it’s nice to have a three day weekend every weekend lol. And that way I can visit home (about 3 hour train ride) and it won’t be as annoying/draining when I have 3 days off instead of just 2 on the weekend. I’ve been cautious of the pre-reqs but it just sucks that you can’t tell which sections are restricted by major. I will literally just keep trying on registration day to get courses I want. The classes I’m in already for next semester are all major requirements but I can’t really get into other major requirements right now because of the pre-requisites. But what do you mean you can fourth semester classes in your first semester? That doesn’t make a lot of sense lol
And yeah, I’m not too worried. I’m getting a meal plan so I might just get the declining balance one and I wouldn’t really need to worry about the cost of printing.

@emart95 how were you able to start registrating for classes? the system wont let me and it says it starts on dec 16th !

does anyone know when the housing bills are due?

@limjuliana The day MyFIT account changed to the student account, it somehow let me in to register saying I could register at any time. At first I thought it might be because I have over a semester worth of credits that transferred but a few hours after I started registering, it told me I couldn’t and that I had to wait until December 16th too. So ISO honestly. And my housing charges posted directly to my bill online, meaning payment is due when the bill is due. I would contact the housing office just to make sure though. It might be different for international students.

@Iamjenn @Myaa90 Hey guys, I’m waitlsted also. Do you guys know if FIT tell us the ranking of the applicants?I put my name down on the waitlist and I’m not sure if there’s even a chance

@limjuliana I sent an email asking when housing payment is due and they told me January 5th. If you contact them and they give you another answer, please let me know!

@emart95 The majority of classes fall Monday-Thursday so there is a good chance you won’t be stuck at school on Fridays. There are a lot of students who have Fridays off.

If anything, you can be a first semester student and take classes that maybe recommended to take in your first semester. For example, I am an FMM major., and I could have taken merchandising math, a third semester class, my first semester, since there were no pre-reqs. Same goes for fashion business. I just finished that class, but I could have taken in next semester. It’s a confusing concept but once you’re in FIT you’ll understand how it works!

@artsyfartsy96 Good to the Friday thing! I kind of noticed that and have been avoiding picking classes that land on Friday.
And I understand what you’re saying now. Almost all of my have prerequisites though so I can’t schedule the major courses yet. The gen eds I can.

@bini0625 Hey! They said that they don’t tell us where we stand on the wait list. It sucks!!

I received an acceptance letter today!!! Amazing!!! I cannot believe it! @Myaa90 ask them if you can receive your decision as early as possible. I mentioned that i am international so i might not be able to make everything before semester begins. I appealed quiet several times, and finally got final decision via email.

@Iamjenn Omg!! Congratz, I’m so happy for u! I’m gonna email them right now and ask them if they can hurry up with my application. They told me that they will begin to review the wait list in January, did they tell you that as well?

@Myaa90 if you let me know your email address, i will let you know my admission advisor’s personal email. I cannot share it here. She might give quicker and accurate information about your status. However, she never let me know what was my status on the waitlist. It is better to ask if you can receive a decision as early as possible!

@Iamjenn Thank you so much! I will send you a private message.

I have a question! I would like to apply for housing, is there any apartment style dorm available? I do not want to spend money for meal plan. Can anyone check that for me? I might send my deposit tmr so i’m not able to access before my deposit is processed.

@Iamjenn Congrats! On the housing application it does not tell you which are available and which are not. They list all possible room options. I would suggest selecting Kaufman or Alumni. From what I have heard, Coed is almost full and Nagler is mostly traditional rooms. Once you can go in and apply for housing and after you receive notice that they have received and accepted your application for housing, you can ask the sort of room availability left. I had called to ask them about the housing bill and they had asked me what sort of housing I was interested in and if I wanted an apartment (sounding optimistic about it. I need a traditional room with a meal plan for financial reasons so I told them that but they pretty much explained that they don’t release room assignments until January and they try to put you as close as possible to your request but have to see what availability there is. Many

…students do get apartments but you could ask to double check. @Iamjenn

@emart95 @mmhh789 thankz !! :)
