***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

@tokliev were predicting December 11th at 3 PM PST based on previous trends

A week! A week!!! How have we survived the past 5 weeks?

@Elrathia Ah, okay. Thank you!

@itsmyusername you’re very welcome :slight_smile:

guys I’m STILL going back from time to time and reading my application over again :))

@epoque I’m guilty of this too, but only because I’m recycling a lot of my stanford essays for other schools.

@Elrathia i just feel like i keep finding nit-picky things that i should’ve added/removed and im just psyching myself out too much. I need to see if there’s any prompts for other schools that I’m applying to where i can use some of my essays

@epoque I actually found a typo on one of my essays five minutes after submitting my application, so I can’t really be too nitpicky after that since I already did the worst thing possible, lol.

Think about it this way, a typo so small won’t change your decision to a rejection of they were thinking of accepting you

@Mchichioco I really hope so. Not to mention that if they reject me because of that, then I don’t want to go there anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey guys! Class of 2020 here. So nervous for decisions to come out next week. Hopefully I’ll get in, but you never know! I can’t wait any longer. Could someone chance me? I’ll make a new thread.

@ivybound456 why not?

GUYS!!! Only a week left. How are we gonna survive?

Hi everyone! I’ve been reading the posts for a while and just got an account, super excited for the early action decisions to come out Stanford is a dream school for me!

One week from today is about to be either the best or worst day of my senior year (-:

@Elrathia I’m creating a thread right now! Thanks!

Hi everyone!! I just created an account - I’ve been lurking for quite a while, but the stress of waiting has gotten to be too much for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Can someone chance me to help me get over rejection in advance? Stanford has always been my dream but it feels like such a longshot at this point, especially hearing about some of you. So here we go! :slight_smile:

Test Scores: SAT 2340 (800M 760CR 780W), 5 on AP CS, Chem, BC, World History, US History, Physics C Mechanics, English Lit, and projected in Physics C EM, Bio, Stats, Latin, and Japanese

GPA: 3.99 (school doesn’t weight, all Honors/AP) I got an A- a while back, will that hurt me???

Extacurriculars: Piano (performed shows with the Philadelphia Philharmonic), build a school in Rwanda and a hospital in Nepal (through my parents’ foundation), Eagle Scout, published research in the Journal of Molecular Biology (on cardiovascular regeneration using stem-cell derived cardiomyocytes), listed as a contributor on broader subsequent paper published in Nature.

Sports:
4 year varsity rower, 3 time Nationals qualifier, twice invited to Junior National Team Selection Camp. Currently have a 6:09 2k, but one of the main reasons I’m worried is that after my official visit the coach hasn’t answered any of my emails. Do you guys think I messed up??

Hooks/Other:
Recs written by current faculty, triple Legacy, unique story (I’ve moved pretty much every year of my life), no issues paying for college.

Sorry if this is too much to read. I’m shaking as I write this because I don’t want this dream to slip away. Thanks in advance, and let me know if you want me to chance you!!! :slight_smile:

@stannyhopeful if there’s anything you need to know about your resume, it’s that it’s pretty much confirmed the inevitable rejection letter I’ll be receiving next Friday

Please chance me!

@stannyhopeful You’re scores are pretty good, but a 2400 wouldn’t have hurt. Those research papers will really help you! But, that GPA! I had a similar situation with the Stanford Athletic Department… Maybe they are just being intentionally secretive???
