I can’t believe it’s already decision week. This is going to be the longest week of my entire life.
None of you are alone in your admission anxiety! I’m a frosh at Stanford right now and reading these comments really brings me back to December my senior year! All I can tell you is that all of my friends that didn’t get in to Stanford last year are very happy right now. Sometimes when I am talking to them, they seem to be having a better time in college than I am! Regardless of what happens Friday, you will ALL be okay. More than okay actually! I personally waited until I was at home to read my email (it came out right when the school day ended for me) and I think it was a good idea.
Thanks, that’s extremely helpful @ixela13
Admission Decisions will probably come out close to when my school gets out, and I’m usually almost always with friends especially on fridays. So I think i’ll be waiting till I’m alone…
You’re right! I haven’t. Last time I checked there were only 15 pages! I kind of wish it would have been a surprise!
Okay guys I’ve construed a list of reasons why I want to get accepted into Stanford (my current feelings, please do not confuse this with my list of why I applied in the first place, that’s much more serious)
Reasons I want to get accepted now:
-idea of doing more college apps makes me sick to the stomach
-I want to fill my closet with all the Stanford memorabilia I possibly can
-two words: Stanford football
-I want to scream at the sky “I DID IT”
-I really really don’t want to do more college apps
-the color red really suits me
-My four letter name and Stanford have three letters in common so it must be fate
-I hate winter and can’t fathom the idea of spending another one buried in 3 ft of snow
-the 4 to 1 Palm tree to student ratio is reason enough to want to get in
-I’m low on vitamin D, so some more sun would be beneficial to my health
-I REALLY DONT WANT TO FILL OUT ANOTHER COLLEGE APP
-I already have a lot of Stanford insignia, it would be better for the environment if I didn’t have to burn it
-I really would prefer not to tell my 50 family members and their 500 friends that I got rejected (numbers may have been a little exaggerated)
-my 10 year old brother asks me everyday if I got in, can we appease him already?
-my mind would like a break from the constant thoughts about what could happen
-my mental and physical health is slowly deteriorating from a lack of sleep and overthinking mixed with abnormal levels of nervousness and anxiety
-have I mentioned my profound hatred for college apps?
@afamelas My list included the acre per undergraduate and of course LSJUMB And I’m still so happy from yesterday’s Pac-12 Championship! Also I remember that feeling haha by December 1 I finished applications. Would have applied to some ivies if I hadn’t gotten into Stanford. But you can reuse quite a bit! Just new “Why us” essays
Anybody know of any Stanford puns to tide me over until decision day?
This is going to be the longest school week of my life… #:-S but we can do it!
Okay, let’s talk about something else. Favorite TV show, everyone?
@potatoheadhala The Walking Dead
SO In India, the results are out at 4:30 AM, which means I’ll be asleep. So, its pretty simple. Im gonna wake up, have a nice hot bath, breakfast (pancakes yum) and then check.
@hopefulmuch Will you be able to sleep? Because I won’t xD
@potatoheadhala Sherlock!
@hellolol As it so happens, I was tense up till 2 days ago. Now I went back and read my essays, and the additional Rec that I submitted… and I’m happy I gave it my best.
SO whatever happens, happens. Bring it on, Stanford. Been through worse.
@hopefulmuch I am super proud of my application too. It’s like, if I get rejected, it won’t be for who/what I am as a person. But still, super nervous at the same time :-SS
@hellolol I totally get it. But I’ve got pre boards to handle, which is what I’m wasting time over.
@hopefulmuch Yeah. Pre boards in jan, but I have pre pre boards going on right now, so I’m trying xD
@ixela13 I’m trying my best to finish them up before decisions come out because I know I’ll lose motivation if I don’t get in, but it’s just really difficult to write essays for schools you’re not 100% sure you love as much as Stanford. I don’t have any expectations of getting in, but we all have that little silver lining feeling that just maybe the planets will align and we’ll get in. College apps are also terrifyingly expensive, and idk if I’m ready to pay hundreds of dollars just sending in standardized test scores. I can honestly say that this is a very stressful process but I’m sure it’ll pay off in the end.
@afamelas Bro, I know exactly how you feel. I’ve applied to nearly 14 and have 4 more to boot out soon (GOD Pls dont judge me I’m weird). Save my soul.
Hey @hopefulmuch, I didn’t send you my essays, if I’m right?
Yeah, 4:30 is a bad time for us
Nope, didn’t get anything @potatoheadhala , slipped my mind too, prepre boards and all.
