I got deferred. Honestly, I’m ecstatic that I wasn’t rejected because I know at least six people at my school who were out right rejected.
In a way, being deferred is almost worst though because now you have another three months to await the actual decision, haha. Anyone have advice surrounding being deferred…like that would help me boost my chance of being accepted during RD?

But did anyone get an email about results being up? I did not, and they did say they would email applicants at 4pm. I’m just asking because i’ve had troubles with emails from Stanford in the past and I want to make sure this problem hasn’t continued.
@ksinke97 I read somewhere that 25% of deferred applicant are eventually accepted, and Stanford does not defer many students. Congrats!

hey guys!!! I’m not v active in this thread but I got in!! Are any of you guys in the stanford class of 2020 fb group? would love to talk to some of you :)))) also, does anyone know if stanford lets students drop a class second semester? I hate my AP environmental science class, stanford doesn’t give any credit for it, and I’m taking two sciences anyway… but it is an AP so they might not want me to drop it. I’ll call or email or something regardless but does anyone know if they traditionally allow that kind of thing? congrats to everyone who got in, and to those who didn’t, there are a million wonderful colleges that you’ll be happy in <3

I succeeded in getting into Stanford as an international reapplicant applying for full need based aid! Anyone in the same shoes, pm me I’ll tell you how I did it
Okay, here goes the last post of mine on this thread.
To everyone out there who had their wildest dreams come crashing down today, I know it sucks. It sucks thinking that you weren’t even deferred, just outright rejected. Although we all know how difficult the entire process is, we all had that tiny glimmer of hope - that little vision that we would be at the Farm next year. Atleast we all felt we deserved to be there. And even though the Status Update on your application still says you’ve been rejected, remember that you were right to believe in yourself. Because nobody deserves to get rejected; it isn’t personal or an insult to your talents, it’s just an unfortunate limitation that only 745 of us can be there. Look back at what you’ve achieved all these years: the lessons you learned, the tears you cried, the fun you had. No college or university can take that away from you; don’t let them.Wherever you go, you can choose to be happy. And only you can make that choice.
Thanks guys for all the advice. Everyone here is extremely talented - I know Stanford made the right choice today. Someday, we shall meet. Goodbye.
