***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

I also did not get an interview from Stanford. So, either they absolutely loved me or hated me or neither - who knows? This will all become clear in a few more weeks. So, don’t despair if you didn’t get one. Also, nothing to celebrate if you got one.

@shivaya not getting an interview has absolutely no bearing on your app

Hey all, Im applying for philosophy, looking forward to freaking out with you in the next weeks!!!

Stanford’s interview deadline is the 18th; my interviewer told me.

I keep receiving letters with “Stanford University” printed on the upper left-hand corner, getting super excited, then realized it’s from pre-collegiate studies, not undergraduate admissions :frowning:

Hi guys!
I was recently contacted about missing a counselor recommendation and since admissions are reaching their climax, does it mean that my application has been read and how important is the counselor recommendation?

I would think they checked it and will forward it on to a committee once you get the counselor rec in. It is very important because the counselor lets them know how rigorous your course load is in terms of what is offered at your school.

I know someone who got admitted to Stanford today. Did they send out any early admission letters?

I believe they have been sending out some likely letters.

Anyone know when they are announcing the RD results? I know it’s usually sometime in late March

March 27 at 3pm

Wait, seriously?! I thought it was April 1st, after Ivy Day.

EDIT: Just checked again; yep, it’s April 1st, as it was every other year. admission.stanford.edu/application/deadlines/

Someone posted March 27 here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1853138-admissions-notification-dates-2016.html#latest

^^ That was for 2015.

@glasshours I believe that’s the date they’ll notify you by, not necessarily the date they notify you on. They had April 1st up there last year too, but they released decisions on March 27th.

All the schools will probably be releasing their admissions notifications dates at the beginning of March.

I heard that the last day for interviews is Feb. 21. @miamelle126 I overheard some students saying Stanford’s last day of interviews would be Feb 21 while I was at my Duke interview.

@smartypants57 - Thanks! March 27th is a Sunday this year, though; they wouldn’t release decisions on a weekend, right?

@uclagal20 - My Stanford interviewer told me that all reports had to be in by yesterday, the 18th.

@glasshours they may - Caltech released on a Saturday for EA.

@glasshours must be a regional soft deadline. I’m in cali and I know for a fact some students from my high school had interviews today the 19th.

I don’t think they offer interview in California

@Ballerina016 they haven’t in the past but this year they began to offer interviews to Southern California students, being that they felt SoCal students were much less exposed to Stanford than those in central and Northern California
