the checklist is still up
@sodapop027 literally no one gets Good Friday off, so I highly doubt it
@strawbanananut My checklist is still up. Same with most other applicants I know.
@gwastaken most? Do you think this means something?
@trixie123 Sorry, that might have been wrongly phrased. I’ve asked some of the people I know that applied and they all said that their checklist was still up.
Mine is still up also. For REA they posted on twitter the release date two days before they released decisions. So, we should check the admissions twitter on the 23rd if we think it is the 25th.
@APersonsHistory Yup, and I’ve scrolled down the admissions twitter today, and it wasn’t only for this year’s REA, but also for other decisions releases in the past years as well! So I guess we should just wait and check the admissions twitter on either Tuesday (for those who speculate that admissions will be closed on Friday because it’s Good Friday, just like Duke or Berkeley may be doing) or Wednesday
@ozymandias2020 Hi! I’m not 100% sure, but on the phone she said something to the effect of “Your peers will be finding out their decisions next week” and then she caught herself and said “probably.” I got a likely letter in the mail, an email from my interviewer, and then the call from my regional officer. And I’m not an international; I’ve lived in the great state of Virginia all my life.
@florida13mom My son applied RD and did have an interview. We live in S. FL…
@sweetcottoncandy I was told by my interviewer that the interview doesn’t negatively impact you, and it is only used if you are an extremely borderline student on getting in. If you are for sure admitted or rejected by the admissions people then the interview isn’t taken into consideration, so I don’t think you should stress our about that too much
So today I called the Stanford admissions office because I noticed a huge mistake on my transcript and thought “I should ask the main office if it’s worth emailing my counselor and bothering him” even though it’s super late in admissions. So I call, the lady that answers says it’s pretty late but she’ll still forward me to my counselor. I get forwarded STRAIGHT to my counselors phone number, and I have not even thought about exactly what I was going to say. So on the spot (this is in a message because he did not answer), I introduce myself, note there’s an error on my transcript without specifying what, and offer to clarify anything confusing on it. Then “have a great day, bye”. I didn’t even leave a phone number or anything to contact me back at. So now I think my counselor is going to hear my message and be like “this girl is crazy, i don’t have the time for this”, disregard it, and remember my name… :(( I THINK I JUST ROYALLY SCREWED MYSELF OVER. Anyways, this was a vent because I’m super stressed out and think this whole thing just made things worse.
@ThatGirlCoder honestly if I were in this situation I might call them back and make the message more clear so that the transcript thing is actually fixed. i don’t think they would hold it against you that you’re trying to make things better… but maybe you should wait to see what other people think.
@ThatGirlCoder Call your counselor again and leave a more clear voice message. You still have the number, right?
I don’t have the number because the lady forwarded me to him. I do have his email from the Stanford website though. I was considering emailing him and writing about how I left him a voicemail, but I feel like at that point I would just be annoying to the extent of potentially hurting my case (if i’m not already on the reject pile).
@ThatGirlCoder Is the transcript mistake so bad that if you don’t fix it it would affect your chances of being accepted? If it is, I would call them back. If not, maybe just leave it be…if the transcript issue is that bad the admissions officer can always send you an e-mail since your e-mail is linked to your Common App application.
Honestly I keep checking my admissions status online and I am so stressed. I know I have no chance of getting in and I don’t know anyone else who applied so now I can’t talk to anyone about it! I am so freaked out! AHHH! Good luck everyone.
@ksinke97 It’s not THAT bad. It’s that a few classes weren’t printed as honors (I took the most rigorous schedule I could but it looks like I have an average/easy schedule and not the best grades). The transcript also doesn’t divide classes by grade it just lists them (that’s why I offered clarification). My grades are my biggest weakness, but I guess if my email is linked then he’ll contact me if he wants to???
@ThatGirlCoder I think they would contact you about the division problem, if it was confusing to them. Otherwise they probably don’t mind. I don’t think they would contact you about the honors thing though because they wouldn’t be able to know whether or not you took an honors class unless you told them :\
It’s up to you what you do, maybe you could send them an e-mail without evening bringing up the earlier voicemail? But I’m not sure how much it will help because decisions probably are going to come out friday… good luck!
@ksinke97 I’ll see how my sanity holds for the next day. If I can’t take it, I’ll send him an email. :)) Thanks so much for the help, it made me feel a lot better.
I called the admissions office asking about if it would be okay to send in third quarter grades and I was told that the decisions have already been made. The word soon was also said. So the 25th seems like a real possibility!
