the only thing that was “meh” about my interview was that I didn’t really prepare questions for the interviewer so there were some silences (not necessarily awkward) in which i quickly had to think of a question. haha good times.
@Bizziee My interview was slightly awkward too lol. I saw my interviewer look at her phone for interview questions. I didn’t mind it as much because that gave me time to think of questions myself haha.
Guys, should I be worried that I did not get an interview request at all? I am an international student, but if it was due to a geographical factor, that would not make sense because someone from my school told me that he had an interview for Stanford… unless he was lying for some reason of course…
BUT STILL, should I be worried?
No. Stanford states that if you don’t get an interview , it does not negatively affect any admission decision they will make.
@harvard2020babe oh okay, thank you! I was worried sick about it for a while Now I can relax just a little bit
Any Florida applicants get an interview?
Hey @elk1819 how sure are you about next week? lol and did you get a likely or just a call. And also are you international? Thanks!
Hi guys,
So this question has been bothering me for a while. When decisions are released (assuming its via the portal), is there a follow up e-mail to the accepted applicants?. For example if decisions were released but for some reason or another i do not check the portal, would I receive an email about my acceptance (assuming I’m accepted). And i mean like within a 24hr time span.Thank you
My interview was awful. The guy said at the end, “Listen, you seem like a smart kid who’d do well at Stanford but to be honest we’re on the East Coast, and none of my interview kids ever get in. I’ll write you a good report and all, but you’re probably not going to get in so don’t get your hopes up.”
Geez. I mean I knew that, which is why Stanford’s just my “whatever happens happens” school, but there was no need for him to be so rude… anyway he’s a big shot at a massive investment bank so I’m sure he’s used to saying whatever he wants haha.
@florida13mom my D and a friend, both from S Fl, were interviewed but for REA.
@ambitious96 Sorry I don’t have a difinitive answer. I only remember the portal notification. I do not remember an email.
Hope that helps. Good luck to all of you. I’m sure the waiting is tough but it’s almost over.
@ambitious96 in the REA round, they sent an email the day after decisions were released to those who hadn’t logged into their portal. (I checked immediately so I didn’t get an email; friend didn’t check and she got an email the next day)
ETA: it’s not just for acceptance, they send an email telling you to check your portal regardless of the decision outcome
@ComputerAge that’s brutal I hope you get in and prove him wrong!!
Someone said on another thread that decisions might be coming out this Friday? Anybody got more info on that?
@Lovemydolphins how was your friend able to show such restraint and not open it right away!! I wouldn’t be able to wait more than 5 minutes if that. And that would only be because I was so nervous haha
@fprosk I believe a likely letter recipient was speaking on the phone today with their admissions rep and they said decisions will be coming out this week. Since Stanford historically has released decisions on Fridays in the afternoon PST, it is strongly believed decisions will be released this Friday, March 25th. I would say at 4pm PST, if I had to guess.
@fprosk there’s lots of speculation that it’s coming out this Friday the 25th. Someone on this thread who got a likely letter was recently told by the admissions committee that decisions would be coming out “next week”.
@tuty143 haha my friend was doing the school play on the Friday decisions were released, and didn’t think she had a chance anyway, so she didn’t bother to check
If the reps get (Good) Friday off, the decisions might be sent out Thursday FYI…
@sodapop027 the 24th? I don’t think I can handle both Berkeley and Stanford on the same day! :-S
To RD applicants: does your application checklist still show up on your portal? I was deferred in the early round, and I remember the checklist disappearing about a week or so before decisions were released.
