“But I wouldn’t have traded my time in New Haven.” T26E4, I don’t get your motivation for posting this on a thread about Stanford. Most students develop an affinity for their college campus. So what’s your point?
@December9th2016 nice user name! ROFL.
RIP as in you won’t get in because you live in an affluent neighborhood all your life?
This is probably silly but do you guys think it’ll make a difference if I didn’t sign up for their mailing list? I don’t like getting mail in general so I didn’t think about it until now… oops
@SingHar17 I’m from Toronto. If I don’t get into any of the schools I’m applying to in the States (Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA) I’m probably going to end up at University of Toronto
@fluteloops4 I am! Management Sciene and Engineering. Is being a girl applying to engineering a hook for Stanford? I’d imagine they have plenty girls interested there but I wouldn’t know
@CiteYourSources At another school, it may be a hook. However, at Stanford, 30% of the undergraduate female student population are Computer Science majors.
does anyone follow the stanford memes for edgy trees fb page
Hey guys, I have been reading this thread for a while now, and I feel like I should join with you guys.
Recently, EngageStanford replied to a tweet asking if they would be releasing the decision on December 9th; they said the 15th.
What do you guys think about this? I just don’t want to wait for another week.
@Oscardinho - you are correct. At 00:49 of 12/4, engagestanford did reply to a tweeter that REA decisions will be released on December 15th
@callmegray No but I just checked it out. Might have been the most convincing reason to want to go to stanford thus far
@CiteYourSources I hope so! At least it can’t hurt. I applied EE. So nervous!
“We will release REA decisions electronically by December 15th.”
its says by 12/15, not on 12/15
@December9th2016 I think you should change your username then.
They said by December 15th, which is what it says on their website. But in years past they have sent out decisions the Friday before the 15th. They say they will announce this Wednesday when decisions are coming out. But still, the fact that they replied to that tweet saying by the 15th isn’t a great sign by it. But I still think/really hope they will come out on the 9th.
My bad. It does say “by”
Is it just me or do you guys think that decision should be released at midnight in every state? It seems like I’m always hyped during that time of the day.
If I get rejected, I will try to sleep, wake up and start a new day as usual.
If I get accepted, I will wake everyone up, and we have a midnight celebration.
If they don’t come out on the 9th, I’d be happy, because I have a convention the next day with TONS of amazing people who also applied REA, so we wouldn’t know about our status and we could all just be nervous together, but also, I hope it comes out on the 9th because I might develop a peptic ulcer if I have to wait another week.
Have you guys seen this? Super interesting https://cathincollege.com/2015/04/08/i-saw-what-stanford-admissions-officers-said-about-me/
@Chips99 I hope my admissions officer doesn’t write “overuse of self-depreciating humor” on mine…
Any fellow Midwesterners???
p.s. good luck to everyone as the day approaches. Trying to keep a pessimistically optimistic attitude lol.
@DaynKnightkid hahaha. I haven’t heard my attitude about the release date been put in more accurate terms.
