@Helium9 Hmm it didn’t appear for me. Are you an international student?
@Chips99 All the IB exams (for the DP) aren’t until May, so teachers predict your scores beforehand for university applications. American schools don’t actually value predicted scores - they’re like AP scores. Although Stanford asks for the schools to send them, they don’t affect the application.
@Helium9 My school is incredibly strict when it comes to predicted scores. Our entire class is very competitive and yet I still have the highest predicted score. Even after receiving straight As (straight 7s) throughout the past two years, my teachers still won’t predict me a 45! It shouldn’t matter as long as I have the grades. I really hope we get in!
@Chips99 I’m in IB, and unless my teachers submitted the predicted scores themselves and I didn’t know about, I didn’t send them either. It didn’t show up anywhere on the app and I don’t think that it’ll matter.
@Chips99 Yes, I am an international student.
@alr33zy My school tends to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, so the predictions are very slightly optimistic. Although, the predictions tend to be pretty accurate. I’ve also taken one AP exam (Calc AB) and plan to take another one.
@Mitrak On Stanford’s website, it says that all IBDP students should send IB predictions (through your school).
@Helium9 I’m aware of that. Their sent through our school you say? I guess my teachers and IB coordinator would have taken care of it then.
@Mitrak They should have if they were aware of it.
@helium9 I’m sure my IB coordinator knew and took care of it. No one at my school really knows or talks about predicted scores, so its probably one of the things the teachers do in the background.
We are close to 24 hours now!!!
@Mitrak I don’t think it’s a big deal.
@Helium9 I took the AP French exam back in 9th grade and might take AP Chem and Compsci. I took an accelerated Chemistry course at Northwestern over the summer and have self-studied AP Computer Science (which was easy because I know Java pretty well). But since we haven’t taken the actual AP course (French for me and Calc AB for you), we won’t get any credit as they don’t really value AP test scores.
@alr33zy I have taken an AP Calc class, but I am doing Chinese on my own (self-study)
24 Hours, 30 minutes, and 7 seconds… but I’m not counting
I wish I could sleep for 24 hours
@vasodys you should try to do something meaningful and it will be worth than the admission decision! Good luck my friend.
Less than 24 hours!!
Just make sure to only share your decisions in a somewhat non-open manner. Someone in our school was expected to be a shoe-in for stanford, all of her friends (literally at least like 25+) were around her, she read her letter, and was rejected…
23 Hours. Will take anything but a deferral. Please don’t let that happen. Yes or no are ok but not another wait and see. I can’t handle another round of this.
@kath00 I’d rather have a deferral, and a chance, than a denial. Stanford is worth it all
I was barely prepared for next Thursday, let alone tomorrow :-S
What’s next Thursday?
