Honestly the mix of emotions I’m feeling rn… idk how I’m gonna get through school today with this looming event in my mind
It’s likely to be anticlimactic with a lot of deferrals to the Spring. Try to take it in stride and continue to dream of all the possibilities. You’ll end up where you’re supposed to be in the end. Try to enjoy your senior year, or at least what’s left of it. “We will never pass this way again.”

Hey everyone! I have been stalking this thread since August, and I just wanted to wish everyone good luck! In the end, it doesn’t matter whether you are rejected or accepted because you are extremely talented and anywhere you go, you will shine and be successful. For me, Stanford has been my dream school since middle school, and tonight will be the day whether my dreams are crashed. I know for a lot of you, you are in the same position. I think we need to look at the decision not with anger or depression, but as an opportunity to improve and to eventually prove Stanford wrong. I wish everyone good luck, and as Walt Disney once said “If you can dream it, you can do it… Remember that this whole thing started with a dream and a mouse.”
@preppedparent doesn’t stanford defer a small amount of applicants compared to HYPM
@tt8082 @preppedparent yes, my understanding is that Stanford mostly says admit or reject and defers very very few. I hope this is true–I’d prefer just to get it over with.

I got an 17 on the ACT
I am ranked 348 in my class (class size 350)
My only extracurriculars are ACT prep and riding my bike to school
PLEase chance me. I think my chances are pretty high but I’m not sure.

Good luck to all of you. Remember that if you are not accepted, that decision does not mean anything about your character and capabilities. Admission at extremely selective schools like Stanford is really arbitrary. Some of you may be rejected today but might be accepted to an Ivy league school next week.
