How does Stanford recalculate gpa
I loved Stanford’s essays omg! They really made me think about who I am as a person and what I stand for… regardless of what the outcome is, I really enjoyed the app and how it allowed me to realize things about myself Good luck to all of you come April 1st (or whenever they will release lmao)!
I wrote about the production of Voyager’s Golden Record by Carl Sagan
I enjoyed Stanford’s essays, but I still think UChicago’s were the most fun (even if I was rejected lol). I really liked Yale’s short takes as well, and I enjoyed Carleton’s sentence thingies.
I think I’m an outlier on this one, but my favorites were Harvard and Princeton, since I definitely express myself better when I have more room to develop an idea. Yale’s short takes and Stanford’s essays all felt too condensed for me to write organically.
Tbh, I do not even know some of the historical events people are putting down here lmao. I put the big bang and the battle of thermopylae haha (the movie ‘The 300’ with the spartans and stuff is based on that battle)
@clvmsy You make a wish Too! SAME! At 11.11 I close my eyes really tight and whisper Stanford repeatedly until it’s 11.12 (seriously).
omg for what matters to you, I wrote about massaging kale lol
aw man I also put the crucifixion of jesus HAHA
@takacatboy I also loved UChicago’s prompts the most (unfortunately since I was waitlisted, they didn’t seem to love me back). Stanford was a very close second. Princeton was third. I worked the hardest on my UChicago and Stanford prompts because of that.
For my historical moment prompt, I put that according to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, time can diverge between observers. Thus, time is not linear and there is no mathematical distinction between the past, present, and future. So the “historical” event that I would like to witness is the creation of the time machine. BTW, that IS something that I really, really want to see. Hence my favorite movie is Primer (Primer nerds will understand my profile pic).
For the meaningful prompt, I put . . . Noël. Since I lived the plurality of my life in France, and we celebrate Christmas more like they do in France. I said this was important because it brings me back to my time there, which is fading from my memory and is more dreamlike in my mind now. I also spoke about how I identify more with the way French celebrate it and discussed those differences, finishing with:
did @stanford.cardinal follow any of you all on insta?
Would be great if they would release decisions on 3/28 with the Ivies.
I know! Would be so nice if I could just be done on Wednesday @Nomorelurker
so is the decision definitely coming out on march 30th? I never received an email about that
For those who do get admitted (hopefully this week), anyone know if there is an admitted students day the week of April 2nd. Many are on spring break that week and might want to visit. Hows that for being optimistic?
@Nomorelurker No. Admit Days are in the following week (4/9-13) and Admit Weekend is on 4/26-28. If Stanford is in your destiny, it will come knocking on 3/30. Good luck!
@1NJParent, thanks for the dates. Of course it’s only about a 3% chance at this point for RD admission, but there’s still hope, right? I guess the week of April 9th would be ok, still several weeks before AP tests, but that weekend of 4/26 might be problematic, although not that bad a problem to have!!!
The wait is killing me. This has been the longest month of my life.
Stanford tweet @EngageStanford
Admission decisions for Regular Decision applicants will be available this Friday, 3/30 at 4:00 p.m. (PT)! Applicants will be able to review their decision online via the application portal. #Stanford2022
Did anyone just get 10x more nervous even though Jesus would have to have written a letter of recommendation just to get in? Because I did.
