@LondonVall What a great idea!!! I was completely stuck on that one. I really could have used your help.
For the biggest problem in society, I wrote about Human Dignity - whether it’s basic needs like food and water or a more complex idea like abortion…
For the biggest problem one I wrote about the apathy people have towards current problems and how everyone expects other people/future generations to solve all the problems
damn I feel like there should be like a college essay brainstorming forum, maybe there is one somewhere and I’m just out of the loop lol… idk if that could cause problems with plagiarism but still would’ve been nice to just have like a proper brainstorming group to bounce ideas off each other when we were writing these
What about for what matters to you, why?
I wrote about the support my community has given me throughout my life. despite my big dreams(like going to Stanford), they have always believed in me
For what matters to me, I wrote about my military community and parents and how it’s shaped my life, beliefs, outlook on the world, and future goals.
for what matters to me, i wrote a poem about how poetry and figures like maya angelou helped me love myself and my community it’s poetry about poetry. inception much? lol
applied to thirty schools on and off commonapp. wrote and copy pasted so many essays that i cant remember what i wrote for which school. :))
I wrote about being at the moon landing
for what matters to me, I wrote about my snapstreaks hahahahahah. I decided to apply to stanford on the day of the DEADLINE, so I spent one night writing all the supplements lollll. It’d be a miracle if I even got in, not expecting anything tho ha.
For the biggest problem facing society, I wrote about in-group-out-group bias and the inability of people to relate to one another. For the historical moment, I said I’d go back and see Roger Federer’s 5th straight Wimbledon title over Nadal in 2007.
@semicolon dude I am a huge tennis fan as well. That match was amazing but the 2008 match was even better.
for the matters to me, i wrote about my cat but tried to nuance it so it revealed my character hope stanford appreciates that
Butting in for the first time ever in any forum… did anybody receive an email directly from Stanford regarding information about the Decision Release dates? I can see that there’s a tweet out there. But did anybody receive any email communication directly from Stanford?
@bros20000 Haha, I agree, but I like Federer more than Nadal, so I chose the one Federer won XD
@semicolon @bros20000 I lurv Federer better than Nadal. Though I do believe that Nadal is more… gritty. He’s a fighter to the core and NEVER loses his temper. Federer on the other hand is like poetry when in motion. It feels like an honorific - a privilege to watch him play. And I loyally watched Aus Open finals in 2017 when he won the first time in years and had tears in my eyes I swear (which is not much because I cry when I watch Mr Bean lol)
In the younger pack, I’m standing Nick Kyrgios, Alex Zverev, and Dominic Thiem. Don’t like Dimitrov though.
@santacalculus not at all. i checked EngageStanford, which is Stanford’s official account. they haven’t contacted me personally
My S did not get an email re: the release date either.
@stargirll @lovespink I didn’t get one from Stanford either. But a couple ivies had sent me emails about Decision dates a few days ago and I was wondering if I missed any email from Stanford… Nvm tho. I’ve just become a teeny bit nervous these days lol. Thanks for the info guys!
@santacalculus watch out for Hyung chung I think he’s better than Zverev, but kyrigios is very good. His backhand needs some work but I still think he’s the best of the young players. I am also a huge fan of Schwarzman. He’s small but has the heart of a lion.
