@TheOneAndOnlyT-Rex I’m a domestic applicant from Colorado. I did an interview in early February.
Guys how many addresses show up on your portal?
Anyone want to share if they got a Stanford alumni interview, and if so how it went?
@loosinghope I have 2 mailing addresses and 1 permanent address showing
@EPFutbol I wasn’t asked for an interview. PS International student.
@loosinghope 1 mailing address and 1 permanent address
@TheOneAndOnlyT-Rex They divided them into permanent and mailing addresses but I have the same one for both anyway
Representing from Wakanda here…
:> …I wish! Good luck y’all from California!
@loosinghope The 2nd mailing address showing is incorrect and shows USA as the country. I don’t think the number of addresses means anything.
I did an interview February 4th and it went amazing. The alumni was a very kind women who is now opening her own practice with her husband. She asked a lot of questions about my background, academics, programs/internships I’ve done throughout my high school career. She also asked why I wanted to attend Stanford and what I want to study (CompSci). The interview went really well!
I live in Kansas City and was never asked for an interview while my friend at my school was (he also has a brother that goes to Stanford if that means anything). Is this going to significantly hurt my chances?
@minajestynic Did you apply to CS at Berkeley? They have a great program.
i got a stanford alumni interview in february. it was pretty chill, and he asked some of the basic college interview questions (why stanford? what are your interests? what do you want to study? what is something that puts you apart from all of the other applicants? etc. )
4 hours to go…
@TheOneAndOnlyT-Rex I didn’t apply to Berkeley, I have been drawn to Stanford for so long!! But I completely understand whatever happens. What do you plan to study?
My D had a fantastic Skype interview in February and came away from it thinking she actually has a chance at admission.
I had a Stanford alumni interview in early February with an older, very warm, and completely modern man in the sense that his world-views were not outdated and traditionalist, but rather very open to newer and better ways of doing things. He noted that Stanford only interviews applicants who are being seriously considered, he said “Stanford does not waste time interviewing applicants who have no chance”. The interview went extremely well, we began delving into conspiracy theories and questioning our reality. We ended up talking for two hours. I think I may have ticked off Stanford’s intellectual vitality box with my interview. We’ll see though, fingers crossed!
@Fridayknight99 I live in Saudi as well! Are you from Jeddah?
@minajestynic I’m leaning towards Management Science and Engineering with a minor in CS.
I don’t think it’ll hurt your chances. The most the alumni interview can do is slightly better your application by showing yourself as ~a real human~ but if you didn’t get an interview, they won’t hold that against you.
