ugh. I just discovered this website, and wish I had sooner because it would have made most of the wait so much more bearable! I’m still waiting to hear back! 9 days… The fact that exams are right now is not helping the stress… I’ve got to say though, good luck to everyone, you all seem more than qualified!

what are your stats seinne?

Well I’m studying in the UK now, so because of the different system I don’t have a college GPA or anything, but my SAT score was >2200, HS GPA (weighted) about 4.2/4.3 - 2 B’s in college classes (88 classes total), and enough extra highschool courses on top of my AP’s to lower it a lot (at one point I had 4 college/university and 4 AP classes at the same time). I’m guessing that’s what you mean?

Calvin,

Your application did, indeed, complete and we are able to move it through our evaluation process. We expect decisions will be released next week, as per our calendar.

All the best,

welcome seinneadair! a shame that you found us so late in the game, but welcome nonetheless.

i am very grateful for this forum myself and look forward to decisions next week how ever grim or disappointing they may be. i guess i just want to know so i can fully allow myself to let go and bask in the excitement of transferring already. i’m eager to move onto the next stage in my life, and i’m sure i’m not alone on this.

also, thanks for sharing @ longshot.

@thelongshot I’d remove the confidentiality notice if I were you, I’m pretty sure posting it on a forum is not what that notice wants haha

longshot, come on…it’s a confidential notice for a reason. It’s disrespectful to the sender to post that.

I agree… the confidentiality notice is probably a hint that it does not want to be posted online for the world to see.
@ ghettopony: Thanks! And best of luck! I think we feel kind of the same way. The admissions process has taken so long I think we all just want to know and move on!

We should, most likely, be finding out tomorrow how many they’ll be taking and I hope it’s at least 23!

Jsmith1990
Where does this info about tomorrow come from? And where can we find out?

I notified the administrators to take down the notice as I can no longer edit the post.

@jsmith - are they sending out emails or will it be on their site? If you find out anything it would be awesome if you let us know. Ahh… so anxious.

It’s only an assumption from last years posting on

[Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

May 7th, 2009 could be different this year… then 5 days later they announced instead of 8. Eh it’s already a day past when they did last year so maybe they won’t announce early :"(

Seeing as how they released freshman decisions 6 days early, they may release transfer decisions early as well. In any case, it’ll be next Friday at the absolute latest.

Oh man,
Just got rejected from NYU.
This does not make me feel nice and fuzzy about my Stanford chances

hey dubbie, it’s kind of cliche (in fact cliches are all i seem to have around this time of the year), but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and neither nyu nor stanford should dictate your success as a dignified individual. in the end, i firmly believe that it’s not necessarily what you have, but what you do with it. your stats show courage and intellect, so don’t give up hope.

Thank you for your thoughtful kind words @ghettopony
I have a question to anyone here that took the GED.
I was not able to have my GED certificate sent to Stanford. I spoke Mr. Abbot at the school before applying and he said I should send it so they will be able to better apprise me. As I said, I was not able to contact the GED people. Did anyone else submit GED certificate? or did anyone else encountered an issue like mine?

@ghettopony Your words are very encouraging.

they are not so much my own words as they are words inherited by loved ones who’ve done it all already. you guys will make it happen somehow :)

about a week left

A week at the most, hopefully less. Ahh…

Dubbie81:
My friend transferred to Stanford after getting his GED years later. His story would inspire many people to apply, I know for a fact that Stanford really appreciates giving students a second chance with their education. My friend dropped out of high school to help raise his child, now, he’s a lawyer in Seattle and is very successful. I hope you wrote on your essays the reason why you decided to get your GED; I know that you will truly stand out.
I wish you the best, and know that If Stanford is not your destination you will be successful nonetheless. As to your question about the GED certificate, I don’t know. You might want to contact a regional counselor.
Best,
HH
