Congrats to all of you! I was rejected, but I pretty much expected that. Is anyone waitlisted?

@ectransfer2011- goingforanobel and I were both waitlisted. I think we’re the only ones on CC to post a waitlist decision from Stanford so far, but I may have missed something. So, are you still waiting on any decisions? Do you know where you’ll be going?

@goingforanobel- oh, right, heh…we could BOTH get in, totally…that’s a way better idea than me sneaking into your house in the middle of the night and…
Haha but seriously, I really hope you’re right! How amazing would that be??? We have to make sure we stay in contact, on here if nothing else, so we can meet up if by some miracle we do both get to go. I’m giddy with excitement…what a dream come true that would be…
And I have been thinking about it; I think it is fair to assume that a lot of the Stanford admits were probably accepted to other big name schools, and just might choose one of those instead, thereby opening up some waitlist spots. It’s not completely out of the question, anyway, but I’m really hoping that assumption is dead on. Fingers crossed…
I wish we had some idea of how many people are on the waitlist!

Where did the 60 students number come from that was mentioned earlier in the thread? Does anyone have some sourced numbers for transfer admits and/or transfer waiting list admits?

I don’t have any info on the number on the waitlist. If it were a perfect world it would only be CTC and I. ;)

The 60 accepted students came from the waitlist letter. 1400 applied altogether.

Admitted students, contact me by PM to find out about the Stanford Transfers 2011 Facebook Group.

Congratulations to those who were accepted! And my condolences to those who did not get the news they were hoping for–college admissions are not a judgment of your worth as a person, at all, and I am sure you will do spectacularly wherever you may end up.

I was accepted, but have decided I will not be attending Stanford. So there’s another spot hopefully open to you two on the waitlist. Good luck.

Hey guys!! I am on the waiting list for Stanford…When are the final decisions going to be released ??

Hello! I am on the waitlist as well, and haven’t been on CC in weeks! I was surprised to find this thread still alive…but that’s neither here nor there, so to answer your question, the waitlist response form said not to expect anything before the 7th (which is just tomorrow), but I read somewhere else that it would most likely be sometime in the next two weeks (starting from last week), so I think we should hear something by a week from tomorrow, but that’s just my hunch. I also seem to recall something about having an answer “by July 1st,” but I think that’s a maximum time limit that they don’t really expect to reach.

I’ll ditto CTC on everything they said.

How’ve you been holding up this summer CTC? Staying busy?

^Hey, good to hear from you again!! I REALLY hope we are both chosen!!!

Yes, I’ve been staying busy! I’m sure you have heard about the F5 tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri just a couple of weeks ago? That’s about an hour away from where I live, so that has put me in a prime position to help out. I’ve been organizing benefit concerts, gathering food, clothing, and even toy donations for the families, and trying to spread the word to all my new connections across the country, in an effort to raise more money for these families in need.
SPEAKING OF WHICH: **********Anyone who can spare it, all you have to do is send a text message to become a huge part of helping these families get back on their feet. I’m spreading the word to you, so if you would PLEASE help me out and spread the word to your friends, and they tell their friends, and so on- we could actually make a HUGE impact here!!! So, here’s all you have to do:
Text REDCROSS to 90999 (that’s ALL you have to do!!) to send ten dollars to the Joplin tornado relief effort. Please help by telling your friends and family, and thank you so much!

@goingforanobel- …anyway, that’s pretty much what I’ve been up to. How about you? How’s your summer going? Have you heard anything from Stanford yet?

lol my post keeps disappearing and reappearing…this is becoming very confusing…

bump bump bump bump bumpity bump, look at bumpy go, bump bump bump bump bumpity bump, over the hills we go…

Anyone on the waitlist heard anything yet?

Just curious.

Sounds like everyone I heard who have successfully transfered to S are from California CC/UC.

Anyone shares some insights?

FWIW, I’m a transfer student from Georgia Tech that was accepted at Stanford this past admission cycle, so there’s at least one person who isn’t from a California CC/UC.

So…anyone on the waitlist heard anything yet…??? :)

@chasethecarrot:

Are you from california CC?

I was waitlisted and I’m from a new 4 year college in Georgia. It’s basically unheard of (even in Georgia).

No, I’m from a community college in Missouri, actually. Lol

@goingforanobel- have you heard anything from Stanford??? Sorry to keep asking, lol I just really didn’t expect it to take this long to get an answer, so I’m wondering if other people have heard back yet.

@ chasethecarrot: i dont know what to say to you, other than good luck! i sincerely hope you get in. i know how sucky it is to be on the waitlist; not knowing your fate. but being on the wait list is an amazing achievement and shows that Stanford thinks you DO have what it takes to make it at their school, it’s just that they have such few spots available for transfers. :(
