@burtmacklin hahaha glad to see another house of cards enthusiast here
Where are you from

Going to UC Berkeley while you people are off to Oxford and Columbia

@sgsg13 berkeley is great mate congrats
Did any of you contact your admissions officers and if you did did they ever reply

My daughter is going to Cornell, but still hoping for Stanford.

@FUnderwood in the faqs they said not to do any of that. I called in and they said not to send any additional materials barring the updates on the waitlist page.

Guys when do you reckon we get to know about ours decisins? I’m hoping Monday

How can you say that ? Doesn’t the website say we can know anytime till july 1st ?

Coz for the past few years this is the time period wherein they release their decisions

I am guessing if they are going to take people off the w/l, its going to take more time. But I maybe wrong (I am wrong, Mr Underwood is always correct)

If we all don’t get in, Frank will you invite the Stanford admission officer at railway station for…umm…hanging out ?

@burtmacklin yes of course. It was fun “hanging out” with Zoe at the railway station too

@burtmacklin HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :")

I’m pretty sure the FAQ section said that they would definitely give us an “update” of what they are thinking about doing around May 15th… So we should get some sort of notification in the next week - though it could just be a “we are still thinking”

I think we should expect some sort of notification on Monday

Son decided to take the 1/2 tuition from USC, taking into consideration their #1 Ranking in Computer Games, which is his interest.

My main concern is that @FUnderwood said that his friend said that the yield was “as expected”, which basically implies an increased yield rate from last year, making the possibility a waitlist usage unlikely.

Remember that they accepted a bit fewer kids this year because they expected a higher yield rate.

Will the yield be considered country wise ? Because in my country, 10-11 people got in and 4-5 people rejected Stanford. 6 are waitlisted. Should we be hopeful ?

I thought that the decrease in acceptance rate - while also to combat the increase in yield - was to try an insure some usage of the waitlist.
I mean look Stanford wants to use its waitlist or people aren’t going to accept a spot on it and they won’t have a “demographic pool” to pick from in the future. But then again an incredibly high yield would make it admitting anyone else impossible.

@FUnderwood - Why do you think they will let us know today?

I think they should at least announce the yield by today
they’ve delayed it by well over a week

can someone please call them today ?
