^^^^^

Just called up Stanford 5 mins back
The person on the line told me they’re still in the process of deciding whether to use their waitlist or not and we can expect to hear anything by the end of June

@FUnderwood
…

Yes? @johnkim614

@FUnderwood

So it’s most likely not even going to be this week… Ridiculous

“if they want to use”

Can more people call and ask them if there are currently any plans to use the waitlist at all?

All they told me was that I should expect an update between now and July…

Generally, if you call them, they will tell you what is on the website unless they are about to release the info that day. And then even then, it is not guaranteed that when you talk to someone they will tell you that.

The last thing they want is someone angry because they said “it should be out tomorrow” and then have a 1 day delay because the admissions head had an emergency or something.

They seem to run a tight ship and don’t release info to people that is not publicly released.

(p.s. I am NOT saying that it will be out tomorrow. That is just an example).

What… No…

Then why would they wait this long to notify us? If the yield was 80+ They would have known that they were not going to use the waitlist on May 1st, the deadline.

Take everything with a grain of salt until you see a press release from Stanford.

There is nothing you can do until then and getting upset or excited by rumors is not recommended.

IggyAzalea, you are new here? I see you just signed up for an account and then posted this 10 min later? Are you on the waitlist yourself?

im sorry but @IggyAzalea i really doubt that they would release the yield to a singular person when they have openly delayed its public release. that seems incredibly unprofessional and unprecedented - on top of just strange seeing that they purposefully have delayed notifying us a full week later then they have in the past 5 years.
Anyone who actually had that sort of information would know better than to inform the student callig

Yeah that doesn’t seem right to me.

I’ve researched when they have released the waitlistees in the past 6 years and it has ranges from May 8-14 but never above 14. This year is an anomaly, no idea why. That being said, I personally don’t think they would wait this long if they were not even considering to use the waitlist.

They said that they are gonna see how many transfer students accept the offer. That’s why it is taking this long.

Hi everyone - new here and on Stanford’s wait list. So have people been calling? I’m so nervous, I would expect them to at least give us some sort of update about their yield by now. There are 1364 members in the Facebook group which is way below the number of students in a class? I mean assuming around 2/300 people don’t have fb? So is there hope? Gah Also follow me @hannahleaf !!

What does transfer have to do with freshmen???

No.
But no one who is from that office made that statement here.

The person who made that statement is an anonymous person on the internet. That person could be a french model for all we know. If it is true, then what was the person’s name who said this to you?

Okay, so now I get your act.
No. That is not true. I think 3 years ago they had a much bigger class than expected, but the following two years they did not.

Now, they still may be above 80% and probably are. But right now it is nothing more than rumors.

@IggyAzalea is a ■■■■■
Do not pay heed to it

@IggyAzalea
“The transfer students were better than those on the waitlist”.

Wow that just increased your credibility. We all just love sweeping generalizations, don’t we? Do yourself a favour and get a life instead of randomly irritating people on college confidential. By the way, rumor is the american spelling “dumb-dumb”.

This iggy person is a ■■■■■ and a bad one at that. Shame on you.
