Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

anakin's turn to the dark side was kind of abrupt i thought. Even after he cuts off windu's arm he still feels remorse ("What have I done"), so he's not really evil yet. But right after, he commits himself to being a sith lord and kills little kids, and also his eye turns yellow. I mean, you would have to be kind of evil to slaughter defenseless kids, even if it was supposedly to save your wife. But anakin's descent into the dark side was really sad...the scene where he cries afterwards was pretty powerful.

Anakin just doesn't become as completely evil as Palpatine though, and there is always a part of him that feels remorse. Even in Ep. VI, you can tell that he isn't completely evil...

"It's too late for me...my son."

I'm pretty sure at the end of III, Anakin (who should be called Vader cause Anakin "dies") is completely evil. Its only in VI that Luke rescues his soul from the dark side that he can be good again and join the Light side of the force after he dies.

:)

I argue otherwise. He certainly isn't happy on Mustafar after he killed the Trade Federation guys. And he definitely shows upset over the death of his love.

well he still loves padme ("NOOOOOO") so he can't be completely evil. He probably just gets brainwashed by palpatine, beacuse after all, his ideas are much more appealing than the Jedi's. But in a way, how is the sith really different from jedi? Both are willing to kill to defend their cause; I'm sure the jedi have killed many to defend the Republic, which was pretty corrupt anyway. If the sith aren't protrayed as yellow eyed monsters that shoot lightning, I doubt there would be that much of a differnece. Man, if I were a jedi, I prob would be easily swayed by the Dark Side :-/

anyone notice how anakin's eye turns yellow but when he's fighting obi-wan his eye ISNT yellow.

The best directing work in the whole movie is anakin crying on the volcano planet. It was one of the few moving scenes in the whole movie.

I reinterate, somebody needs to have anakin in for therapy. The boy's sick in the head.

Thanks for the explanation about the droids, UCLA.

BigRed, I didn't notice that, but then again, I was busy watching the lava...

One question- Are both CP and R2 memory-wiped? I know CP is, but what about R2?

I thought Anakin/Vader's choking trick (end of movie) was a nice touch- he uses that who knows how many times in the original trilogy.

Anakin still looked up to Obi Wan deep inside and also conidered him to be a brother. Because of this his complete evil character goes aaway in his midst and instead turns to a sort of reverence... although he is still brain washed by palpatine.

Anakin scares me. He practically views Padme as his property. Poor Padme :-(.

anakin's turn to the dark side was kind of abrupt i thought. Even after he cuts off windu's arm he still feels remorse ("What have I done"), so he's not really evil yet. But right after, he commits himself to being a sith lord and kills little kids, and also his eye turns yellow.

i agree...at one moment he's telling windu that palpatine is the Sith Lord, and telling palpatine that he will arrest him, etc....and the next, he chops off Windu's arm....and then pledges allegiance to Palpatine? That makes no sense at all. There's no transition here....what made him convert in that short time period?

I remember my friend was into that scene with Windu. She's never stayed awake during any Star Wars and right before anakin cuts off his arm she yells " NO ANAKIN DON'T DO IT." It was priceless. I think the conversion was quick but you have to say it wasn't a total conversion.... he totally doesn't trust the jedi. He knows when he gets there that he is going to have to make a choice, and keep palpatine alive. The reason he went to the emperor's instead of staying where he was told to stay was because he needs him alive to save padme. So you can't say it was that abrupt. the inner turmoil and lust were there.

I dont know KB, there are a few "moving scenes" in that movie. I usually don't get sad during any movie, but, directly after watching SWII: AOTC, I even was alittle sad when Padme said: "You're breaking my heart" or when Obi-Wan said: "You were the chosen one! [...] You were like my brother."

Indeed.

:)

It's really ironic how he went to the dark side to save Padme but she ended up dieing because of this action.

I might have said this before, but how does someone survive having all their limbs cut off and catching fire?

Christenten is the worst actor alive and did no justice to Darth Vader.

You must be a guy. I admit, he isn't the best actor, but in my opinion I think he does a pretty good job playing troubled characters. Have you seen Life as a House? (I'm also willing to admit that the reason he's my favorite actor is due to his good looks, though I prefer him with black hair.)

Anakin: You're so beautiful
Padme: I'm only beautiful because you love me.

WHAT IS THAT- i don't call that love.

Hahaha, you're right. Their love story definitely needed A LOT of work. Han Solo and Chewey were more touching together.

LMAO!!!! Shudders thinking nasty thoughtS

why does the emperor's face turn ugly? Is that his true form of was it from the lightning? I think the emperor could have easily beaten mace windu but was just toying with him until anakin came.

I think it's funny how palpatine and anakin kill all (most) of the jedi, but the one that causes their downfall is anakin's own son.

hey does anyone know who "kidster" is?

lol if someone knows this, he'll be crowned the biggest star wars dork of all time. either that or you go to my high school.
