I'm wanting to play roller hockey but our school doesn't have a club team, and the city it's in, despite it's size, doesn't have hockey for the 18+ group. So I'm looking at starting up university team, and we'd play other college teams. Where would I start to make this possible?

Without knowing all the specifics of your school/area it's hard to give any specific advice, but I'd probably check out your student activity office (or whatever office keeps records for official clubs and societies). You'd probably need to demonstrate that there is enough interest and then file some paperwork to form an official university club or society (and you may need a faculty member to serve as an 'advisor').

As for playing other schools, you could probably do this on an informal basis without any trouble (as long as there are other teams to play); however, having this occur as an 'official' match would be difficult as that would have to go through your athletic office, the NCAA and such. If there were costs associated with travel and the like, this would probably have to be paid by the members of the club unless it eventually became an official university NCAA team.

Edit: I'm not sure, is roller hockey even an official NCAA sport?
