Starting an archery club?

I have always been interested in Archery but its not a big thing in my country (read: nonexistent). I think if I started one it would be a pretty big thing and people would be interested, mainly because they would want to shoot stuff but can you blame them? It does sound interesting. There is space at my school for it and I would really like to give it a shot. What do you think about it? Think it could be successful, or that my school would even give me the permission to start something like this?

Probably too dangerous, cost might be high, and are there even competitions for archery among HS’s?

Worth a shot, I guess if you’re passionate about archery, but I doubt it would become a club.

If they don’t, just join your local amtgard or larp group.

@HeWhoPwnz: That’s the thing, I’m almost sure that my school will say no because its too dangerous and they don’t want to hear stories about students shooting each other with arrows and what not, even though we do have karate and capoeira which are dangerous in their own right, for example someone I know recently destroyed their ankle in karate. We do have 3 large fields, one of which people rarely use and its away from the main “traffic” of the school, so I was thinking about having it there.

@hobbithill: As stated before, archery is pretty non-existent in my country (I live in a somewhat small Caribbean island) so I don’t think there would be any of those around and I would like to do it as a sport or something more formal, not role playing/acting or any of that stuff.
