Stevens Institute of Technology Class of 2023 Regular Decision

New Thread for Class of 2023. Post your stats and area of interest:
SAT: 1530 Superscore
GPA: 4.0 W
Computer Science
Chance me for Full Ride pls

No chance.

@CS_Parent Stevens doesn’t offer merit-based full-rides. Their highest scholarship is full tuition. I’m not sure how they are with need-based aid.

Full tuition: Low chance
Full ride: Lower chance

Are people thinking 3/15 or 3/30 for decisions? This wait is difficult!

It is 3/30

Average person pays $40K as far as I know since my son is a student. Presidential plus grant. FYI…first year on campus - rooms are about 9K. Junior and Senior you must go off campus leasing…now 16K. Adjust accordingly.

@Stressssssssed Does the $40K include room&board? Do you know what is a typical Presidential scholarship, and is the grant merit-based or need-based?

Presidential for many that I know was $25K, but that was a few years ago. It also comes with a 3.2 minimum GPA. Grants are need based. I know people that had an increase in salary and the grant was taken away. Grants are not guaranteed for 4 years. The Presidential Scholarship is guaranteed for 4 years as long as you meet the 3.2. The 40K does include room and board. Food is really expensive freshman year, but it goes down after that.

RD decisions are out.

Not sure how much influence the coach had as Stevens is a D3 school, but I’m sure if you have similar stats you’ll be fine.

97.0807 Weighted GPA
30 ACT
$15,000 merit scholarship
Chemical Engineering

We loved the school but were hoping for money. This is one of the lowest scholarships our daughter has received. Comparable schools offered much more for merit. This may kick Stevens out of the running, sadly. Not sure yet, though.

Congrats to all accepted!

Accepted
SAT: 1520 / ACT: 35
Computer Science
Total Financial Aid(need and merit): approx $55k
Congrats all!

D got in with a total of 32K Merit scholarships (7 Presidential, 23K Edwin, 2K Martha - Who are those people by the way lol). Not eligible for need financial. Very surprised how generous the scholarships are. This is the highest scholarship D got, unfortunately she isn’t too crazy about the school…

It’s surprising that my son placed on wait list. His stats are : unweighted GPA 3.92, weighted 4.56/5.0, SAT 1570, 3 SAT subject tests (800,800,770), 8 AP (5 in the junior year - all 5 s, 3 in senior year)

DS Accepted as a Pinnacle Scholar! $32K Merit plus $5K pinnacle stipend/yr. Zero need based grants. Very generous and a pleasant surprise!

@RaviS That’s bizarre. Did he interview? Worth a call.
