Still haven't heard from U Mich? wth?

To prevent the crashing of their computers and prevent mistakes in who decisions are sent to (like PSU had a few weeks ago when they sent incorrect acceptances).

Or to torture us because admissions officers are sick people who enjoy other’s pain.

I am sure they can balance their load as they are a leading university in CompSci. :D

I bet its the third one.

You guys will hear by December 23.

@fe2011
Did you hear this from someone inside?

yes (: and several students who applied told me! So you guys should know by Dec 23…some applicants knew by Dec 16-17

By inside do you mean in every University publication? Because the whole deal of EA was “apply by 11/1, get a decision by 12/23.”

@fe2011
Do you know what is the difference between the ones who heard by Dec 16-17 and the ones who will hear by Dec 23?

I thought it was pretty obvious all decisions would be out by the 23rd since it said so for over a month on the website.

Hey guys, not really I do not know the difference I do not believe there is :slight_smile: and yeah it was on the website but I do not have the link!

All of us who haven’t gotten anything are banking on tomorrow. Does this mean the rest of us are getting our decisions tomorrow???

i’m scared…i don’t think i’m that overly qualified and i’m oos but i really don’t want to get deferred or denied…

That was the plan…

according to the Admissions Office, all emails are randomly released with acceptances, deferrals and rejections sent out each day. There is no basis for the assumption that the notifications were batched, except for the conspiracy theorists out there…

Guys here is the deal - Michigan received 6,000 more applications than they thought, that coupled with the fact that last year more kids accepted than they thought -and they didn’t have enough room/housing for them – they are being very conservative on their acceptances. Therefore,they are at present accepting the most qualified candidates - probably the ones who are also applying to ivy leagues and using Michigan as a safety school and wait listing the others until they can get a handle on how many students will be attending. Don’t give up hope - u just might not know if you will be attending michigan until late spring.

wolverin that’s super scary to hear /: I don’t think that I am ivy league worthy but I would say I am Michigan worthy. And if I get deferred until April, my chances of actually going there are slim. They can’t ONLY be accepting ivy worthy in December, right? /:

you all are also looking at it wrong. Only LS&A and the art school have heard.

Engineering, Kineis, Nursing, School of Ed, etc have not heard.

@mgoblue09
A lot of people got accepted to the engineering.

That is what the trend seems to be - I am Michigan worthy too and have been dreaming about going there since I was born - but the only kids who got accepted from my school so far are the kids with the 97 averages and the kids who are using it as a safety - it stinks - cause last year I would have been a shoe in - this year —I have to wait and see

Is Michigan your reach school? Have you heard from any other schools.

@mgoblue09
I know a lot of kinesiology people who got in too…
