To prevent the crashing of their computers and prevent mistakes in who decisions are sent to (like PSU had a few weeks ago when they sent incorrect acceptances).

Or to torture us because admissions officers are sick people who enjoy other’s pain.

according to the Admissions Office, all emails are randomly released with acceptances, deferrals and rejections sent out each day. There is no basis for the assumption that the notifications were batched, except for the conspiracy theorists out there…

Guys here is the deal - Michigan received 6,000 more applications than they thought, that coupled with the fact that last year more kids accepted than they thought -and they didn’t have enough room/housing for them – they are being very conservative on their acceptances. Therefore, they are at present accepting the most qualified candidates - probably the ones who are also applying to ivy leagues and using Michigan as a safety school and wait listing the others until they can get a handle on how many students will be attending. Don’t give up hope - u just might not know if you will be attending michigan until late spring.

wolverin that’s super scary to hear /: I don’t think that I am ivy league worthy but I would say I am Michigan worthy. And if I get deferred until April, my chances of actually going there are slim. They can’t ONLY be accepting ivy worthy in December, right? /:

That is what the trend seems to be - I am Michigan worthy too and have been dreaming about going there since I was born - but the only kids who got accepted from my school so far are the kids with the 97 averages and the kids who are using it as a safety - it stinks - cause last year I would have been a shoe in - this year —I have to wait and see
