I applied to CSE and CBS as well

I understand that you are anxious about getting an admission decision. However, you will most likely have a little longer to wait for your decision because your stats are a little low for CSE and CBS. From what I have read on its website, University of Minnesota places first priority on GPA, class rank, and ACT scores. Applying early does not necessarily mean that you will get a decision early. The university wants to make sure it accepts those with higher stats first, so it may be more beneficial for certain groups of people than others to apply early. For example, if you have great stats and UMinn is your dream college, than you should apply early so you get accepted early. That way, you don’t have to worry about applying to other schools. That saves time and reduces stress!

Here is a link to the academic profile of admitted freshman:
[Academic Profile](Academic Profile of Fall 2022 Admitted Freshman Applicants by College | Office of Admissions)

As you can see, average ACT scores are around 30 for both colleges.

If you haven’t already, I would recommend applying to a few other colleges just to get your mind off this one :)

Applied:
University of Minnesota -Duluth
Minnesota State Mankato
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Almost Finished Applying:
Macalester University
Tufts University

Also, I am doing the gates scholarship which requires 8 essays. Another thing is that I am taking AP Calc, AP Microecon, and Honors Physics this trimester. Still pretty worried even though I am very busy. :)

Also very worried. Applied to the Liberal Arts College way back in August. Small private school 3.4gpa all honors level courses and 28ACT. Got in to two other schools but this is the school closest to my home.

I would think you would already be in…my friend was accepted with a 3.9 GPA and 24 ACT. His only honors course was math. No AP.

I applied super early to liberal arts too. I applied mid-July and found out at the end of October…all of my other schools I heard back from in 2 weeks and my agony kept building as I still hadn’t heard from the U. I was accepted, and to be honest that was a HUGE surprise to me. I have a 3.69 GPA with a 27 ACT. Not much community service, but I did school newspaper, marching band, and forensics all 4 years for extra curriculars. I think you definitely have a good shot at getting in…just keep your chin up. Keeping optimistic was the hardest part for me, but once I found out i felt like a weight was just lifted off my shoulders. Best of luck to you, and I hope i helped ease some of your anxiety :)
