Sounds like a great resolution. All involved parties seem to be happy. :)

Just a quick question here.... IS SHE GUARANTEED ADMITTANCE TO THE INSTATE STATE SCHOOL???????? If not, better hustle some other applications up, because having NO college options in April would be devastating for your daughter.

Another verse from the song (post #10) that is more apropos given the "Internet guy":

"Your daughter brings a young man home.
Says, 'Do you like him, Paw?'
Just tell her he's a fool and then
You've got a son-in-law."

The other verse; I believe is:

..why did the kids put jam on the cat
raspberry jam all over the cat...

Oh, there are several more verses. If anyone wants them, PM me and I'll be happy to oblige.

..why did the kids put jam on the cat
raspberry jam all over the cat...

When I was a baby, my mom was babysitting her friend's toddler while the friend was in the hospital having her second child. The toddler managed to pin our cat in the sill of the window and completely coat her from head to toe with cold cream. Can't believe the cat didn't claw the life out of the kid, she just put up with it.

But I digress from the topic...

I know what you mean about having NO schools, but dd really knows that she waited so long to do stuff that her pickings are slim. We have a few more college visits scheduled that don't have adeadline until Feb 15th, so we will see how those go. She does have a few appls in already so we'll see!

Thank you for thinking of that..

I was laughing about the 2 for 1 deal at the tattoo parlor, I think the thought of mom having a tattoo would probably disuade her as well <grin>!</grin>

Tawnya

We can go overboard in the rational parenting business :D

Cautious DS had planned to go to one of those MTV Spring Break destinations with a group of kids. Sounded just dreadful the more he talked about it. But, it is his money and he will be 20, and he is very sensible, so I stayed out of it.

Last weekend he called and mentioned that he was thinking about coming home instead. I wanted to do a happy dance, but instead, I very calmly asked what had happened to the other plans, asked some other questions.

Pause.

"Am I welcome to come home? Because you don't sound very happy about it."

you are a wise parent mafool... totally unlike your nic

that's sweet^^^ thanks.

Actually, I think I went overboard in "giving him his head" because I was thrilled and didn't want to play the "make mama happy" card.
