Applying for Andover and Exeter for 9th grade

gunga: are you repeating 9th?

How do you plan on maintaining your level of soccer while at school?

andover is right for gunga. good soccer school. he should be able to keep up there.

crickett- in 8th grade now and applying for 9th grade

Any passionate soccer player out there wants to post.

keylyme- Hoping to play for one of the Top club team in part-time basis or join other club team near bs

nhfootballer....hs soccer alone (even NEPSAC class A) won't get you much. gunga is smart to know he has to maintain club affilitation. My son is doing the same and has been able to remain part-time with him premier club...and plans to to continue ODP and supery. The only drawback is he can't do Academy, the effect of which remains to be seen.

I believe that same philosophy (of playing both) applies to several sports where the club teams are stronger than the preps. With girls prep hockey, generally, the best players play together on pre-post club teams (often where these players started), which in effect turn out to be prep school all-star teams.

Most coaches (although not all) will encourage a player with such potential to maintain ties with their club team. They recognize that the outside experience only improves that player and that player draws other solid players to that school.

i am a football guy and don't know much about how soccer works. andover is a big soccer school among the preps i am told but dont know how its varsity stacks against the club teams. all i know is that football makes it easy. you play for a school. it is just a matter of finding the right level of competition and academics for you.

Gunga -- where do you live that selects middle school city all star teams?

Chelsea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best Team In The World.

Is Chelsea in CT???

I'm an Inter Milan fan myself.

Narazzurri!

(Their new home jerseys, white with a red cross, are probaly the best looking shirts in the world).

fun-- Little league Major (6 and 7th grade) Jr. League ( 7 and 8th grade)
KaKa is the best attacking MF

Mcsk-- Love to watch Drogpa play for Chelsea. Too bad Jose(former Manager) is not there anymore

warriorboy....Chelsea is in England; it is part of the "Barclay's English Premier Leauge", one of the finest football (soccer) organizations in the world. It is also my son's hands-down favorite team.

funisfun.....there are lots of opportunity to play on All Star baseball teams in the younger ages. It is not necessarily school-affiliated; it is often as part of "Little League" or "Cal Ripken League" baseball. There are also All Star teams selected for the older age groups..."Major Leage" and "Babe Ruth League". Actually, at least where we live, middle school baseball is pretty much recreational.
